Today i finished my 2009 birthday and christmas shopping.....
I bought 2 P and P Hand Creams, 1 P and P Lip cream, and 2 No7 exfoliators. I managed to get 2 GWP, using 'perkies' and acm vouchers, paid £16 ish, got 250 points from a previous GWP too, i am happy with what i managed to get, especially knowing i have finished my shopping...lol...my excuse ,i am going to 4 days a week from next week at work, so i have had to get what i could while i could.
Hope you all had a good weekend.

I've found that as I've got older and the skin around my eyes is looser that I'm better off using colours that are lighter and more translucent, frosty shadows are a big no no as they highlight every wrinkle so I stick to matte pastel colours in powder form, I find cream shadows hard to work with.

Personally I would stay away from the smoky eyed look, the dark colours are recessive and can make your eyes look sunken. You could get a nice look using a translucent soft gray but without any sparkle.

Start off by either keeping the skin around your eyes well moisturised (but not greasy) or use a primer, this will stop your eyeshadow from wearing off or settling in the creases. Using a brush, cover the whole lid area from lashes to brow with a pale neutral powder shadow. Then use the coloured shadow of your choice and cover the lid. If the skin under your brows is drooping then you may want to take the coloured shadow higher and outwards so that it can be seen a little when your eyes are fully open. Blend everything in well so you don't have any harsh lines.

Next you can use some sort of eyeliner but only on the top lid, I found it looked very ageing under the bottom lashes once I got to a certain age. I use a soft kohl type pencil with a smudger to line my upper lid, I'm useless with liquid liner and find it impossible to apply neatly on my crepey lids. You can take it up ever so slightly at the outer corner to "lift" your eyes but try to avoid the Cleopatra look, I use one in a darker shade of my eyeshadow colour and blend it so there isn't actually a hard line.

One thing I find I can still use from my youth is a white eye pencil to make a dot in the outer corner of my eye where top and bottom lashes meet, it helps to give a wider eyed look.

Now you just need to finish off with mascara, I use browny black as I find black looks too harsh at my age, again just on the upper lashes, a teeny weeny bit on the lower ones if you must and if you've got a steady hand, but only to define them otherwise it looks like a spider has taken up residence on your eye.

If you are lucky enough to have a teenager around to give you a brutally honest opinion then you shouldn't go far wrong, my DD soon tells me if I've got it wrong :rotfl:
I find the most difficult thing is trying to apply eye make-up without my reading glasses on, even with a strong magnification mirror, I keep them on the top of my head throughout and keep checking the look as I go along.

Visited Crystal Peaks today. Both here and at Meadowhall NC are still full price so no lovely cupcakes, sanctuary travel still £7, no l'oreal anti-fatigue, no putting sets. Boring!!!

I'm getting no P&P vouchers, no wombling!!

Also in both stores they have completely run out of the Olay face creams that you could spend less than £2 with wrinklies.

I'm getting depressed reading about everyone elses gr8 bargains!!

I kinda know what you mean - I was at 3 stores today, and the first 2 were totally bargainless. I used up a couple of wrinklies/hairies in Nottingham Vic centre, then spied another and a perkie lying forlorn in a basket on the way out, so I gave them a home. Had a little chat with the Clarins lass, unfortunately she'd totally run out of mini samples to give me, but she said to try in John Lewis or Debenhams, as all Clarins counters were doing the same thing at the mo. 61p SELS on the NC flannel cupcakes, but no stock.

Then went off to Riverside - their clearance stand was carp really, nothing much reduced on the SELs at all, couldn't even find SELs for NC cupcakes there. Used up another couple of wrinklies/hairies, on TD moisturiser and JF serum.

Finally (and I was kind of losing the will to Boots by this time) I nipped off to Pride Park. Much better clearance here! Got a Dnage plumper free with a wrinklie, some more Charles Worthington blow dry spray for 20p with a hairy, and used my last hairy on some more JF serum. Also found, on the clearance stands, neutrogena 50ml pure glow daily moisturiser for £1.40, and the No17 vintage collection GWP for 50p :D .

Still no NC cupcakes, but they did have quite a lot of their Mediterranean collection body butters etc range at half price, on the normal shelves - these ones (or varieties like them)
    http://www.boots.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?storeId=10052&productId=24223&callingViewName=&langId=-1&catalogId=11051

Some FCUK body lotion too, at half price on the normal shelf. Also lots of current No17 on the make-up stand at half price, including their mineral foundation etc. No17 is also 342.

So, I'm now wrinklie and hairy - less, phew what a relief!

Next week, on to the perkie spending :rotfl:

little old lady from across the street knocked on my door about an hour ago - have you got any of that boots cream, you know that super one(she meant p+p) i said yes, she always asks me - she said she had seen me walking back and forth bringing my shopping in and that i had 4 boots bags :rotfl: :rotfl: talk about neighbourhood shop watch!!

anyways i said 10 quid, out came a crispy one from her back pocket! I gave her the gwp as well - she was off like a whippet - she doesn't get out much

shes just been back - she has obviously put the entire load on her face and brought me 2 apple pies and some jam tarts for the kids!!

i only paid 8.50 using the acm and purply so we are both happy
coupon over here, coupon over there, every crack filled with coupons even down there
