  • I've never had much success with eyeshadow. :( During the 60s, I used to wear a bright blue one, that, after half an hour, settled into the crease of my eyelid, giving me a bright blue line of sludge.

As you can imagine, this, in tandem with my non-existent eyebrows, was, in retrospect, not a very attractive sight - but hey ho, we all looked like that back then.

Come the 80s, I went in for the smokey, sultry look, but alas, it just made me look like a P*ssed Panda, so I ditched that idea. Then about 10 years ago, I tried the "barely there" look, subtly applied, but I was so subtle, you couldn't see it!

Now, I feel ready to bravely go to new places, IYSWIM. So could all you Foxy Ladies advise an Ol' Gel what type of eyeshadow she should use. I am still looking for a smokey look, but I'm talking smoke rather than a Raging Inferno!

I have zillions of Perkies (can I use those?), and lots of points too. However, I don't think I'm ready for the "blend 3 different shadows on six different points on the eye area" yet.

Oh, and to make matters worse, I mean, give you all a real challenge, one eyelid is great, the other one is sort of hidden, due to a droopy brow one side. And I have quite a bit of excess skin under both eyebrows.

Apart from that, I can't really see a problem. :D All advice gratefully received. Thank you.

    xx
:rotfl::rotfl:You allways make me giggle, not sure about the best eyeshadows as such, but if you want to avoid the creased shadow look, try applying a make up primer before adding foundation, powder, shadow etc, not sure no7 do one, but i use spackle by laura gellar i think thats her name. Cause my lids are very oily compared to the rest of my face and find the eyeshadow stays put better with this. Hth.
You laugh because I'm different......I laugh cause I just farted!

Better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak out and remove all doubt. (A.C)
  • Has anyone seen the Natural Collection cupcakes reduced anywhere in the Edinburgh area? We saw them in both The Gyle and Livingston yesterday, but at full price (had them price checked both times). I'd love to get a few if possible.

And on the subject of making eyeshadow stay, I have to second the recommendation of Urban Decay Primer Potion. After dancing around like a lunatic for a few hours in a hot, sticky room full of people (my choir's Burns Night ceilidh), by the end of the night my eyeshadow was still there. Even if I didn't feel like my legs were! ;)

Oh what happy memories that brings back! Went to Edinburgh last year with Dee, and we went to one - enormous fun, and though we were the eldest by about 45 years, everyone was sooooo friendly! I must try some of this Urban Decay Primer Potion, as my first step!! Thanks.

Just got back from cribbs causeway. Went early to go bowling for a penny with all my children, then it seemed rude not to pop into Boots whilst I was there:D.

Told OH we needed to go to Boots to get meal deal lunches for all of us. Amazed him with what a bargain they were, how much we had saved, and I paid in points so really cost nothing :D:D. After convincing OH thats Bootsing was such a good thing to do I left him in the playground munching on food watching our children whilst I went back into Boots.

(really looking forward to having bath tonight with my sumptious bath soak, thought it must be amazing judging by the amount that SandraScarlett buys :D, you have said hownice it is SS so many times I though I just had to try it!)

Did the final shop at the SS tills and when I got home realised I had not collected the £5 note change had just picked up the coins . Was so upset as it defeated the whole purpose of trying to save money. Phoned customer service and they gave me number for the store but they werent answering their phone. Phoned customer service back and a lovely young man added 700 points to my AC. I am so pleased :T:T

Also tried to use perkie and ACM p&p voucher on mens p&p eye cream, but computer said no!! SA wouldnt override as said couldnt use perkie and acm voucher together . Has anyone else managed to get mens p&p with the ACM p&p voucher??

I find baby wipes good for getting ink, crayon etc off of walls, furniture etc.

I sometimes a little worried about how good wet wipes are for getting stains out!! Always makes me wonder what they must be doing to our childrens bottoms!!:rotfl:

If you have a Benefit counter near you, do try the Lemon Aid as well - they're usually only too happy to demonstrate this for you. It evens out the skin colour, and can even be worn on its own (as I do if I haven't time to put on makeup) and it really brightens my eyes and makes me look more awake - something I need as I don't get much sleep at all

Many thanks JEANIII and Scarlett.1974 for your replies. That has made it a bit easier to understand .
Im going out later so if any one has any other tips on getting Mens glitches I would be really grateful as want to [strike]shut up[/strike] keep OH happy.:D
He cant complain about me buying items from Boots if they are for him and I can get to keep the pinkie !!

I saw those LOREAL grey bags yesterday but they were £14 odds- is this a misprice ?

Those would definitely be worth getting price checked by a SA - as they sound exactly like the ones I got price checked when the SEL said £14.xx, and they were the £3.67 and bogohp ones :D

Someone once told me they use anti freeze in them:eek: not sure if that is true though.

Got a few goodies today at westwood cross boots, managed to pick up 3 x cupcakes, they are soooo cute:)
Also got the olay cream wash used a winkie, just can't seem to get rid of these!
I picked up loads of mini mode clothes for my little'n who seems to grow by the hour! and got a good deal on those. (thank you everylittlehelps).
  • I was also having trouble keeping my eyeshadow from creasing and the lady who used to post pictures of her eye makeup on here, sorry about not remembering her name, told me to try the No.7 primer and I have found it to be quite good but as it is nearly finished I will have a look at the Urban Decay and the Benefit primer, so thank you.

Also do you think those baby wipes would be any good for removing old red wine spots from a carpet? I have tried loads of things but nothing has shifted it. If you do think they might do the trick what brand are they please?

And me...I had them priced checked last Monday at Stevenage as sel was £14.** but till said £3.** and they were buy 1 get 1 halfprice :j
