Orange Haggling not working
I'm just out of contract with Orange so rang them up to see if I could get a better deal on the line rental. I quoted a couple of packages that I'd been offered by other networks but the customer service rep was unwilling to make me any sort of offer other than a handset upgrade.
At the moment I'm on a package that gives me 120 x-network anytime minutes and 120 x-network evening minutes plus 500 texts for just over 30 pounds per month. I get through c.240 minutes per month but seem to end up with bills for c.45 pounds every month
Any ideas about what I should do next? I really don't want to change networks but Orange won't budge at the moment.

Call 150 and choose option 4. That's Retentions and should give a better deal. Mention something like "why must I leave Orange and go through a reseler to get a better deal?"0

They didn't budge with me either and admitted that new customers get better deals. So I am off to O2 :j0

Me too - I am going to O2. I found the online tariffs to be better.

At the risk of being repetative, I did the same. Had been an Orange customer since they launched but in the last few months left and joined O2.sventhebrit wrote:Me too - I am going to O2. I found the online tariffs to be better.

Main advantages:-
1) Much better deal
2) Online account view, that works (unlike Orange)
3) 0800, 0870, 0871, 0845, 0844, 0500 numbers all come out of included minutes
4) Coverage as good as Orange in the places I work/travel
Job done.

Sounds like I've got some thinking to do. I rang Retentions and got nowhere so it's either stick with the current plan and cut down on the usage or move to O2. Don't really want to move as it'll cost the family more to ring me (they're all on PAYG orange) but it's their money or mine........0

Orange made no attempt at all to keep me either, I went through to retentions and they couldn't give me my pac number fast enough.

I went through this with Orange, and I've been with them for years - trouble is their coverage is the best for where I am. They eventually did me a deal, but only if I signed up as a new customer - nutters! Creating work for themselves.0

the reason could be that its beginning of the month and they are not worry about hitting the sales target
personally if i don't get a good deal next month i would go to virgin and then go back to orange as new customer and keep the same number!Honesty is the best policy doesn't matter which web site
you are on!
if i had known then what i know now!
a bargain is only a bargain if you really need it!0 -
o2 do not include 0871 in inclusive mins0

If you are refering to my post above then I'm sorry to disagree. I have 0871 calls included in my inclusive minutes and have the bills to prove it.digp wrote:o2 do not include 0871 in inclusive mins
However, there may be a difference between on-line tariffs and others.
