  • Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaargh - can't believe you got the 500  I got 5  well done you!!

I don't get many surveys, one every couple of months really, obviously in the wrong catagories too. Had one this week about yellow and white pages, really boring but 300 points.

Have you looked into doing mystery shops? Good idea if you have the time to do them.

Have a great time in Perth, we are planning on going this winter.

Hey, I'm a Pom living in Newcastle NSW, whereabouts are you?

Here are the details of the book I was talking about earlier - I bought it when I was in Oz (admittedly it was second hand from a shop supporting bush firemen out in Avalanche nr Canberra). It is called Hard Times Handbook ISBN 0 17 006364 X It was first published in 1939 and re-published in 1984. I swear by this book as I use a lot of the recipes in it (sorry if it sounds sad:rolleyes: ).

The weather has improved here, the snow has gone and spring has sprung - the crocuses are flowering and we have nice sunny days, except for today which is a bit overcast but hey ho can't have everything:rolleyes:

Electric - sounds to me like you need to keep a spending diary so that the money you have in your pocket doesnt burn a hole in it. Take a shopping list when you go shopping too and only buy what you need and not what your stomach says you need (in other words don't go shopping when you are hungry).

If you are in a contract with your phone - just stick the thing in a drawer for 7 months and don't use it. With your new phone can't you fix it so that the only call you can make is an emergency call and that you can only receive calls? I am sure there must be a way?
  • Thanks Horace, I'll have a look for that book :T And I definitely need to make a spending diary.... I've been trying to avoid it but I think it's the only way I'll feel "accountable" for my everyday spending, IYKWIM.

I don't know if this is good or bad, but in front of me I have $450. I dearly wish I was paying it off a credit card, but it's actually to pay for my divorce. My ex was initially supposed to pay for it, because he owes me money. I told him to pay for the divorce and we'll call it even. However, he's been trying to come up with the money since October, so I finally just told him I'd do it.

I expected to feel sad at this moment, but I feel a whole range of things. Sad, relieved, reflective, a little melancholy perhaps? But at the same time, happy and relaxed? Just had a fantastic night with my OH, we went to trivia and came second! Won a free round of drinks and a $20 voucher. All up spent $3.30 for a great night out :D

Maybe sleep will make me feel better :p
Away with the speed of a thousand turtles!
