I find the thought of selling prizes immoral, sorry if that offends but I think a lot feel the same as me. Comps wins are to be enjoyed, not to line your pocket.
kateabDefinitely NOT the blogger at Katie and the Kids, OK?0 -

Six months ago I would have agreed with you but then my husband sustained a serious brain injury and still cannot work. With his care (which is still quite substantial) and three small children there is no way I can work. Cash-wise things are very tight and for the first time I have found myself entering for prizes that I might be able to sell. So far I have not won anything I would want to sell but I would be open to it. I did win some beautiful jewellery yesterday which I am keeping for the moment but a part of me feels greedy for keeping it when I could sell it can put it towards something for the kids.
Sorry it sounds a bit like a sob story but what I am trying to say is that for the first time I can see from the point of view of those who are trying to win to make some money and feel bad for my previous viewpoint.0 -
I see no shame in selling something that you won and dont need???
My kids wont argue with it either!

I don't think there's anything wrong with selling things on , i have come second or third and won things i would never use or need(i wanted the first prize:rotfl:). Whats the point in them collecting dust.

I only enter competitions for things I would like or I think a friend or family member would enjoy. I've given quite a lot of things away as presents or just shared with friends as a treat. I don't think I'd have a problem with selling some things but I just haven't had anything I couldn't find a use for yet. I don't enter competitions for things I would have no use for eg family tickets for something or sports I have no interest in as I like to think it gives those that really want them a better chance:DA [STRIKE]B[/STRIKE][STRIKE]C [/STRIKE]D E [STRIKE]F[/STRIKE]G H I J K L M N O P Q R S [STRIKE]T[/STRIKE]U V [STRIKE]W [/STRIKE]X Y Z0

roflmao - immoral?? Maybe it would be immoral if we were buying goods from charity shops and selling them on for a profit - but not competitions from organisations, giving prizes away in return for advertising. I also know some of these people who think it is "immmoral" have done extremely immoral things such as organised cheating to win competitions and sell stuff under annoymous ebay accounts.
If there was such a thing as comping karma (:rotfl:) I think I'd win nothing ever again! Good job it's made up by people to scare others from entering comps whilst they secretly clean up! :rotfl:I also know of someone dropping somebody in the poo big time just so they could claim a big prize which I would say is definitely immoral.....0 -
I always keep my prizes, I couldn’t sell them!
There is something quite nice at looking at things you have won lol. I only enter competitions to win prizes I would like and prizes that would be useful to me, family and friends. I never enter competitions if I was not able to use a prize or it be useful to someone I know.0 -
well with me some of the wins i keep, some i do for my neice and nephew, and if there is runners up prizes that are just going to clutter up my house like all last years stuff, which was mainly books, cd's & dvds, well where i work they collect for charity like marie curie, the homeless etc and hold raffles n things to make money so i give it to them to help.
In a way i dont feel bad for that because its not cost me anything for doing the comps, and i enjoy doing them, i love the people here and im helping in my own little way to help others.Wins,Hammerfest weekender tickets,Chris Rea Tickets, more Chris Rea Tickets,0 -
Generally speaking, I do only enter competitions for prizes I really want.
I do enter competitions for games consoles purely so I could sell it on if I won, but I've never won anything major. I am planning to start uni as a mature student so need all the financial help I can get.0
