And it should not be more expensive to service and repair at all - as long as you don;t use main stealers!

Didn't the early Galaxy's have gearbox problems??

Kia - parts are dear - and they are a mare to service and doing the cam belt is a right pigs trotter.............

2 in front 2 middle 3 in the back . bigger inside then galaxy but you will not get a HAYNES MANUAL FOR 1 .

Yes, a 2/2/3 combination is not great if you want to use it for 3 children and go on holiday. You can't just remove the back row and put your luggage in. Where would you put your luggage?

I have to agree with those who feel a little uncomfortable about putting their kids in the crumple zone. Fifth Gear (or one of the other car programmes) did a crash test with dummies in the back row of a (I think) Zafira - and it made for scary watching. We were thinking about a 7 seater at the time and I've told the other half that its going to have to be a six seater - either a Multipla or FRV, or we'll stick with two cars thank you very much!

Had quite a few customers try this idea.

Main problem, if you find one that you like, is getting sensible insurers, to provide cover.

most think that it'll be used on the side as an extra income, as taxi, school runs, lads night out, etc etc. Rather than as personal transport.

& then when you start altering the seat layout - most people don't want 10-12 seats, they could say you've adapted it - despite most people carriers having removeable seats, minibusses are expeted to be permanent features. If you don't refit with correct bolts, or as thew should be a prang, some Mr Jobsworth might start being to clever & say you're not covered!!

& you've always the issue of seatbelt tensioners & the dangers these pose, when moving permanent seats around.

Worth thinking about, before getting on a bus!!

We have a mini-bus, it is our second one since we got rid of our Galaxy. Originally it was a 17 seater, we removed 6 seats. The insurance company know this and the insurance isn't too bad - we renewed in December for £480, two drivers fully comp.

That's good, the insurance company are aware that you've made these canges, quite often the problem be when 'modifications/alterations' carried out without them knowing.

But I will stress the need for care, when seats are removed, where seat belt pre-tensioners are fitted, as these are potentially leathal, when they go off, in wrong circumstances!!

Also the seat re-installing needs to be properly. correct bolts & everything in the correct positions, seat belts & anchoring mountings all need to be matched up!

Swopped my Zafira for an FRV and I love it. I'd say there is slightly less boot space when you only need 5 seats, but if you need all 6 up then you've still got loads of boot space. FRV is a dream to drive in comparison to the Zafira.

Agree with all you say above :)

However, in our case, the seats are long gone. There was no intention of replacing them and our dear, battered old bus (an LDV) is highly unlikely to see new owners past us!
