Hi guys,

I love MSE as its such a great community where everyone helps everyone else (I help out on the Insurance Site). Its just a shame we can't all be as helpful in real life to actual people.

Anyway if you wanna thank a Techie Bod thats helped you post your comments here

My personal thanks go to Alienrik and Thomas01155

No probs, the help you and thomas gave would a) cost me a fortune normally b) would mean a long wait listening to hold music before speaking to someone.

Like I said the world would be a nicer place if we were all as nice in real life as we are in here. Although none of us would earn a living if we all gave our services away for nothing like we do on here!

Big up to MSE, Martin and all the forum members

Thanks for posting this thread dacouch, great idea...

I'd like to thank Loaner for the help a few weeks back.

I had a USB problem and this FM spent over an hour on my thread talking me through all the things which I needed to do, and did in fact get my old PC up and running again.

Loaner has my vote for the patience and kindness on 2 seperate occasions!!!

Bless you Loaner, you are a little :A

No problems like you said their help is instant and saves you a fortune.

What I try and work out when dealing with these techies is which one of the IT Crowd they are eg are they Moss or Roy (Hopefully not Douglas as he knows doodly squat!) If you have not watched the IT Crowd watch it as its v funny. I have not been told "Have you switched it on and off yet" so I'm guessing I have not been dealing with Roy! lol

P.S Don't forget to click thank you when one of the techies has help you out it means a lot to them and have a look at the rest of MSE forums there is some amazing advice on just about everything

(un)fortunately i don't... suprising that, but i do need an answering machine that answers - have you turned it off and on again, but i think the dilbert on the wall that says

    - seriously even a cow knows you should reboot before calling tech support -

    has started working!

My thanks go to Alienrik, who was so helful when I got a virus, and was really patient when I didn't do things in the right order. This would have cost me ££££'s if I had taken it into a computer shop to be fixed. I was really pleased with myself for managing to do it, but I would never have been brave enough to do it without this help. Also Reluctant Spender recommended wikipedia to look up the virus and it was a really useful site. I can't thank them enough.
