  • My store reckons we should get a limited amount delivered on wednesday! could be anytime tho.
  • I just rang Abingdon and Oxford, both said they werent getting any more in.

Current Building regs recommend a depth of insulation of at least 270mm (11" in old money)

    So 3 x 100mm, 2 x 150mm, 1 x 200mm and 1 x 100mm etc.

Nothing to stop you putting more in, just try and leave the joists clear so they don't get condensation on them and start to rot.

So cheapest and most future-proof is 2 x 200 if you can get it, ;)

They had a delivery this morning in Ayr. It was hysterically funny watching people jamming it into their cars. Hope you find some
  • Yes - the stores should be getting more stocks in.

270mm is the recommended amount now - I suspect this is at/near the high limit as we're pretty energy aware nowadays. Above this level the savings from insulation are likely to be minimal.

Glad to see this made the newsletter. We were told when we went to our local that they were happy to sell us as much as we wanted as for every roll sold the chap told us he would get £10 off his gas bill??? Did he mean we got it??

Our rolls are in the loft BUT we found our stepladder was too short to get up there ourselves safely so have to hire or borrow one before we can put it down.:o

Glad that lots of you managed to get the deal & hope many more will too.
  • Just called Purley Way, Croydon. They had an unexpected delivery of 16 pallets this morning but they are all gone!!! Staff member admitted that they were trying to limit builders to buying only 15 rolls but they would take one lot out to the parking lot and either go back in or send a mate in! She agreed it wasn't fair because British Gas (and ultimately us who pay the bills) have subsidised it!

7:00 am i went to doncasters, and non in and the unhelpfull customer service woman was very vague with here answers to any deliveries!!

tried again at 10am and all sold out. damn delivery at 8am.

Just to add - the woman I spoke to in Croydon said they weren't being notified of when deliveries were....
  • I have been to B&Q in Hedge End, Southampton looking for some a few times...

The 1st time i went i saw a transit full of the stuff, got inside to find it had all gone...

by the sounds of it the builders have snapped it up on the cheap and are going to make big money on this.

    what a joke

B&Q staff should have been more careful to who they were selling to by the sounds of the previous posts!
