    Hi Blackruby

KT is right - grate the potatoes using a cheese grater. Potatoes can holda lot of water so you may need to strain the grated potatoes in a clean tea towel to squeeze out the excess 'juice'.

  • Thank you so much, and it looks like you don't have to peel first, cool. Stay tuned later to see if I slice my fingers on my shredder (read: cheese grater) Lol. Not starting dinner for a fair while, got a friend coming round later this afternoon.
Not an expert, but I try and contribute and I'll always listen. Middle child of middle child parents. I drink way too much coffee.

  • Hi everyone

TGIF!! Today I am going straight to the gym and then straight back home so not spending any money today.

I am checking my online banking, updating my budgets, and making all my meals from the storecupboard. Luckily I've loads of HM meals in the freezer.
It seems that eggs have gone up and up over the last few months and have found a butcher who sells free range eggs 15 for £1.49 so will be buying them from him from now on.

Hope you all have a fantastic Friday and a brilliant weekend!

By the way I edited this to add: Got no socks on, just kitty slippers lol x

    Cheers

Any idea how you shred potato? My recipe calls for it? I could do it withe the potato peeler I think? Silly recipes assuming everyone is an established cook.

    Use a grater:D

  • Hi I have finally been brave and worked out my debt and DFD, so thought I would join some more threads to keep motivated. Plus I like to read others lists to see what other little things I can do to get the debt cleared quicker. Like it says the small things add up.
    Today I have :
    • Worked out my debt
    • Worked out my DFD - 2017
    • Eat friends lunch that had to be eaten by tom, she didnt want
    • going to walk the dog for an hour this eve, 1hr less of tv and lights on
    • work out whether I have more whites or darks, then the one with most put on to wash
    • dry on radiator and airer.
    • Add some water to my ironing water to make it last longer.
    • Store cupboard meal
    • NSD or LSD.
Amazing how many little things you can do in a day.

  • Thank's sophiesmum, heh, I've got a bit of a dilemma now, I have the urge to make a homemade pizza, so I can't decide what to do, it may all boil down to how much and what kind of flour I have now.

  • I don't think I'm gonna hit the slicethepie target today, done just over 20 odd reviews and my brain has gone 'Nooooo, I refuse!' Will try and catch up over the weekend after work.

  • Afternoon all!!!

Sophiesmum Got my Change4life pack today...its good isn't it?? The chart is going up on my wall for piglet to stick his stickers on!

 to all you small DFW's!

Having a nice day with Piglet today - been to his little speech therapy group and he had a lovely time. His talking is coming on in leaps and bounds. Soon be gabbling away as much as his mother :D

Had to spend a bit today unfortunately but managed to limit it a bit:

    * Buy new hairdryer (bought cheap one instead of big massive one I really wanted  )

    * Storecupboard Dinner

    * Bought Piglet Mcdonalds for being a good piglet this morning, but resisted the urge to buy a meal for myself...total spend there £2.15!

    * Washing hokey cokey at 30'c - airer drying

    * Do Paul Mckenna cd tonight - hopefully will make me eat less so saving money :D

    Thats all today!

    Miss P
    xx
