I have made diet coke pork. Chopped up 2 large chops. Can diet coke, 5 tablespoons passata, garlic, herbs, onions, peppers. Chop onion & peppers, soften in oil (or fry light if on a diet :o), bung in all other ingredients except meat. Bring to boil & reduce heat. Decide after 15 minutes nothing is going to happen. After 16 minutes it suddenly starts to thicken - add meat & cook for around 10 mins. Lovely :), serve with rice & stir fry veg.

    Fanta sounds interesting :D.

I tried diet coke chicken, I adapted the sauce a little with spices and it was ok actually :) I'd have liked more of the coke taste to come through though, want to try it with diet Dr. Pepper next time. And yes you'll be stirring it and thinking it isn't doing anything, then 10 seconds later it's thick! Be warned, don't turn your back lol

  • Yes I have made both and you are correct about the S n sour taste & the BBQ taste. I was very pleased with both of them, particularly as my two kids liked them & so I had no complaints for both meals. Neither of my kids drink fizzy kids so they were both a bit shocked when I told them afterwards!
