Help me reduce the overall cost of my phone, Internet access and Sky

Hi all,
I've been reading this Board for a few weeks now. There is a wealth of
useful information. But as usually happens when I get lots of information I
can't make up my mind!
I'd like to reduce the overall cost of my phone, Internet access and Sky.
Currently:
Telephone - NTL, low monthly calls approx.£14. Line rental of £10.50 is paid
by my employer. We used to be with BT so there is a landline.
Internet Access - Broadband 2MB £24.99 with NTL. I did a quick look for
other suppliers in my area, North Hampshire and there aren't too many. I'd
like to keep the 2MB download speed.
Sky - Full package £42pm. Watch mainly for kids tv and the sport! We watch
sport a lot but hardly ever watch the movie channel. We've got a Sky+ which
is a great gadget.
So in summary I'd like to reduce a monthly outgoing of ~£80. Any
suggestions? Tackle each individually or go for a good package deal?
Cheers

Welcome to MSE and the Telephone Boards

As you have two elements with NTL I would start with this thread which gives you links to other threads where NTL users have managed to reduce their monthly packages.
Give them a ring and see what they offer and if its worthwhile staying with NTL, then give Sky a ring and see if they can better their deal with you.

I rang up Sky and was referred to customer retention. After a quick chat they reduced the cost of sky from £42 to £21 for three months. I'll call back in three months and ask again.
NTL is a wee bit more complicated. I called them up and said that I had my telephone and Broadband (2MB unlimited) with them. I asked about a discount for having both services. They offered £3.00 and with that I also had unlimited local calls (Talk Unlimited (Local). I mentioned that they were already offering this to http://www.home.ntl.com/page/td5 existing customers. I think that I'm now getting this package for £33. My monthly bill was £46 so another wee saving. Plus I can call my mate in the Orkneys for free!
Thanks to everyone for their help0
