Thanks after trying that basically it has failed to run the wmv due to the mfmediatest.cpp returning the direct3d error for out of video memory

FAIL: mfmediatest.cpp @ 531: 0x8876017c == D3DERR_OUTOFVIDEOMEMORY
AMGetErrorText() Failed!

Error: An error was reported by media foundation while playing the file.

Also on a side note the wmv wont play either by using windows media player. windows media player just returns the error

windows media player cannot play the video because there is a problem with your video card

Right what that says to me it that you've not got enough graphics memory to do the test. How much ram do you have? Basically you'll need to add more video memory which takes a chunk of your ram.

Is that 1GB of ram? On a Vista computer? If it is theres your problem vista needs a lot of ram and your graphics needs to use an amount of ram as well, you need more ram.

omg really i brought it from mesh and it said it supported vista they even sent me a disk an every think
