And here's to many more
It's amazing how good a no spend day makes us feel, isn't? For me it is very much comparable to the feeling I used to get when I spent £100 in a few bits of clothes during lunch hour
How strange...Leason learnt :beer:0 -
i know moozie its a fantastic feeling and its soooooo nearly pay day (Friday) for me cant wait to see how much i get in my pay packet with all the overtime that i have done recently :j
Although must admit im flagging massively at the moment ive done nearly two months solid of overtime at the moment and im getting tired and irritable......
But i feel if i just do a normal day then i will lose out on money i could be earning and that money could be going off to pay my debts ........ What does everyone else think?
Do you think i should have a break or plough on earning the money?Savings Total so far for 2023: £8,062.580 -
I know it sounds obvious mate but only you can decide that one!
Only you know how you feel.
Three things though.
1) If you do carry on with the overtime, make sure you reward yourself every now and then like getting ratarsed like last Friday!
2) If you did give up the overtime, would you regret it come payday or when it's no longer available?
3) What about a compromise. Continue doing overtime but not as much!0 -
I'd say it would depend on whether the overtime is only going to be on offer for a short while longer. If it's going to be a long term thing then I'd cut back a bit. You don't want to make yourself ill by becoming too run down because that will defeat the object.
PLus if you get too tired then you might start feeling down and start losing control of your spending. I'm only saying this because it's what would happen to me. I get too tired to think straight and buy lots of silly things.

hiya guys well the overtime is there until september at the moment so in all honesty its not there for much longer but i am feeling really tired over it......
my problem is that if i take time off i see it as me losiing moneySavings Total so far for 2023: £8,062.580 -
Due to me doing overtime every single day of the week for the past 2 months ive now ground myself into the ground.......
Had to go home early from work yesterday cos ive now got a really really bad cold, and i think its due to the amount of time ive been putting in for the overtime and ive become rundownalthough ive got today, sunday and monday to try and get over this
(although im a bit peed ive had to miss overtime today cos its double time
)
Wont be doing any overtime during the week cos i need to give myself time to rest and recouperate (sp?) So will start back doing overtime next Saturday. Will let this be a lesson for me and will look after myself a lot better, cos when ive been getting back from overtime to my house (around 8pm at night) ive been going out jogging for between 20-40min so probably that hasnt helped either.........
Please let this be a lesson to all moneysavers that you need to look after urselves as well your moneySavings Total so far for 2023: £8,062.580 -
