The jeans had worn slightly :rotfl: honest!! :rotfl:

Right well start of a new week for me budget :) was actually within my £20 budget last week (be it by a few pennies  :D )

Had to buy a loaf of bread, some sandwich ham and some apples and banana's for me lunches at work. That came to £5.59 so it leaves me with £14.41 for the rest of the week :D

Have filled in the cheque that i need to send of to Egg to over pay my loan which i should have done far earlier  but im only going to be able to over pay by £100 cos my phone bill has come in more than expected again

Ive got another 6 months left on my contract and then im free to start looking at contracts and see if there are any better deals out there

so all in all at the moment it not going to bad, im making more inroads with my matched betting and have nearly broken the £800 barrier :j

feeling optimistic this weekend cos everything is going well for me :) i even managed to resist buying pizza last night when all my friends were round cos it would have cost me a lot of money out of my budget (had me dinner before they turned up :D )

Everything is going my way at the moment and life doesnt feel like such a struggle what with paying my debt off. Im just really really geared up for finishing this off at the end of this year :D

    Fantastic james. Way to go!

Can you remind us how much you pay off your card each month or is it just the minimum so it goes down each month? Makes me sick to think that nearly £30 a month of your £305 gets gobbled up in interest.

We've fallen off the dfw wagon rather. Went out for a meal over the weekend AND had soup out and bought some wine. So off the wagon twofold.

Particularly stupid as this is turning into a nightmare month. Have to get the boiler fixed, roof mended, chimney swept and pay tax bill and accountants. Still don't know what the tax will be or whether I've got enough put by.

(I paid so much off the cc's last year to avoid paying any interest when I tarted and couldn't transfer it all).

I'm hoping the tax won't be more than last year. I'm just paying a smidgeon over the minimum payment on my last card debt now and am becoming resigned to having to tart one last time, if I can get another deal, rather than pay it all off in April. So maybe we'll be debt free about the same time after all. Not that I'll be due any of the "credit" that you've earned as I'm nowhere near as dedicated and self disciplined as you.:o

I really am going to have to read that matched betting thread. How much do you need to start out with James?

  • Hi James,

Can I ask about your egg loan? I know you are desperate to get rid of it, but how have you found it - any problems? I really like the fact you can over pay and I'm thinking I may try and switch mine so that I can use this feature, I don't know any other loans that do the same for a cheaper rate so would accept the 7.9% - has it been hard to be disciplined and over pay? My loan feels like a big burden and I really want to get my act together like you have.
Any advice would be gratefully received
