cheers hun will have alook into it didnt know that they did felxible loans, many thanks will definatley have alook on there website in my lunch hour on when i get home tonight....Savings Total so far for 2023: £8,062.580 -
I did have a flexi loan with them for a while before I went back to a fixed with them (5.8%). I will probably switch back to flexi when my overdraft is gone and I have my emergency savings buffer fund. I went back to fixed to get the even lower rate while I couldn't afford to overpay. My personal experience with cahoot is good and I find their website even more user friendly than egg (which my now cleared credit card is with). Good luck with your spending this week, I'm still amazed by £20 for a weeks budget! I suppose it does show that when you put your mind to it you can make every pound stretch further than you think! I'll let you know when my budget is sorted and see if I can be as good as you!Quit smoking 18/08/070

youngandreckless wrote:Wow James I have to say I'm very impressed with you spending just £20 a week! I have been agonising over what budget to allocate myself for a week, but I feel confident looking at how well you have done that I can actually survive on alot less than I first thought!
well i must admit, im single not sure aobut urself so it is easier for me to stick to such a tight budget. In terms of food i normally buy the ready meals for Sainsburys or tesco for my dinner the ones where u get 5 for £3.50, etc, etc. For my lunch i normally have Sandwiches so i have minimal expense there as well, and for breakfast i try to get out of bed early enough for me to have cereal..
Although i will say it has taken a lot of will power on my side not to go out every friday and saturday night and find stuff to do that doesnt cost money...I mean even this lunch time ive got my friends asking me to go down the pub with them for lunch, im trying to say no and there all saying they will buy me an orange juice etc,
Its these situations that i find hard cos they want me to go, but i find it kinda embarressing that there trying to pay for me.......does anyone else find it hard like this?
Although i have a fantastic bunch of friends and there really nice to offer to pay i just feel like im taking the p!ss if i do accept there offer......Savings Total so far for 2023: £8,062.580 -
If they offer, it's because they want to. Sometimes it is better to just thank them and go.
Imagine how you'd feel if you were trying to do something kind and got it thrown back in your face?

The cahoot flexi loan is fixed at 6.9% FOR A YEAR ONLY then it goes up to something like 9% (!!!!!!!!!)
James: Egg now have their loans at 6.9% so maybe you could do something stupid like top up by £50 and get a new loan for 6.9%. Just a thought!!In debt no more!0 -

and while im thinking about it this saturday ive got over time as well so that is roughly £100 before tax so once im paid that in my monthly wage, that will be coming straight off my debt! Hopefully, will be able to get more overtime as £100 before tax a day for Saturday's is brilliant so if i get 4 weekends in a row that will be approx £400 before tax and this means i can make massive inroads in my debt :jSavings Total so far for 2023: £8,062.580

Didn't know that about cahoot, think I'll reconsider switching to a flexi and stick with what I've got!Quit smoking 18/08/070
