I thought Sky+ was free now?

    Only to Sky paying customers.
  • Pioneer Kuro 50" plasma telly

Y ou lucky lucky person you, that is the best Tv you can get buy the Kuro's are. When i got my Humax Freesat box they had the 60" Pioneer Kuro on show and at £4k if i ever win the lottery im having one, as that was the best picture ive ever seen in my life.
  • Sky+ is a tenner extra per month, and (separately) Sky HD is an extra tenner a month, but also includes the Sky+ with it.

    That's a little bit misleading.

If you don't have an HD box and as long as you have the minimum Sky subscription (£16.50/month), there is NO extra charge for Sky+.

There is the £10/month for the HD channels.

as long as you have the minimum Sky subscription

That is the key phrase here.

As I understand it if you cease to be a sky customer (ie move to Freesat from Sky) you lose all PVR functions of the box, I think you can pay the tenner a month to retain the PVR functions on the Freesat from Sky option.

Correct, it does cost £10 a month if you do not have at least a minimum package with Sky.
  • As a current Sky HD customer I say it is not worth it. Picture difference really not that significant. Certainly not worth the extra £9.75 a month then movies and sports hd extra again.

They have unreliable boxes and technology.

    Proven.

On my third HD box in 5 months. First one was faulty when it got fitted!
They fob you off constantly. Break their promises and treat you like something they have just stepped on and still they take your money and push their great service and products at you on the tv like propaganda from a military machine.

    Spend it on Freesat.

Leaving Sky in October when my minimum contract is up on HD.
I have had more than enough of my sky. Counting down the days already.

I recommend HD all the way, it looks absolutely stunning on my Pioneer Kuro 50" plasma telly :o) hehe (had to get that one in)

Which model do you have? My dads recently bought the A500 top of the range one. It looked awful the way it was setup but after I switched off all the cr*p it does look jaw-droppingly good!

By whom and can you provide evidence of that please - thanks

Sounds as if you may be confusing technology (unlucky on your part I agree) with poor customer service.

I have had one problem with Sky HD which I resolved by fixing it myself after doing a search on the internet..
    Since then no problems whatsoever.

And it looks much better than SD on my TV
