It was just that anna43hmr referred to 'getting access last night to my websaver' and so I was wondering how, but I see it was over a fortnight since she received the letter with the a/c number, so maybe it was all sent by post.
I just kind of assumed that, being an eSavings a/c, there would be some mention of getting online access in my first letter, but zilch.0 -

Hi
had a bit of a palarva getting access, as they are meant to send the details in the post straight away, but i had to call to get them to send them and when i did i was advised the person who processed the web saver opening didnt do so fully. They basically send you the details in 2 seperate letters and an email.. You get a pinsentry card (looks like a credit/debit card) and a card reader and then they send a pin number out for the card. To get on line access they are also meant to email you a 12 digit member number (which they never did, and i had to call them for this twice - first call they said they would email it to me - neve got, 2nd call which i made once i received the card an number, i asked for it on the phone and they gave it to me then) you then go onto barclays site, click log in, and imput the details it asks you to do - the member number and a pass number that is created by the pinsentry card and card readerMFW#105 - 2015 Overpaid £8095 / 2016 Overpaid £6983.24 / 2017 Overpaid £3583.12 / 2018 Overpaid £2583.12 / 2019 Overpaid £2583.12 / 2020 Overpaid £2583.12/ 2021 overpaid £1506.82 /2022 Overpaid £2975.28 / 2023 Overpaid £2677.30 / 2024 Overpaid £2173.61 Total OP since mortgage started in 2015 = £37,286.86 2025 MFW target £1700, payments to date at April 2025 - £1712.07..0 -
Thanks, Anna, it sounds a pain.
I tried to reply to their email but it won't accept replies; the letter I got has a blank space where the phone number should be, even though it says 'call us if you have any queries'.
I might take the letter into my local branch when I'm down town and see...0 -
I'm having the same issues as a couple of others on here - what a palaver!
After 11 phone calls I now have:- A telephone banking membership number - is this the same number that others have been emailed to register online as well:rolleyes:? Mine was printed on a plastic card
- A PinSentry device (arrived today)
- A PIN for a card which I have yet to receive (received the PIN last week and the letter said the card would arrive 'shortly' - any idea how long after the PIN is sent that the card should arrive?
- PIN for telephone banking
- The smartcard for online access
Is it true that you need to use the PinSentry every time you log-on?
Thanks0 -
I went into the branch this afternoon and she looked at my account and 'activated' online banking, saying the number/PIN etc should be with me shortly. I was unclear whether it had been done previously or not, but I got the impression not.
The good news, at least, was that my SO arrived in the Monthly Saver on the 1st of the month, ie the same day it left my Lloyds current a/c.0 -
My old Monthly Saver 7.75% matured today. Just called them to open a new one with 6% even without a Current account with them. Took less than 5 mins. Saved my trip to the branch.0

I too have now received details of my e-savings reward account. However the letter gives no information on how to move forward, it just states the sort code and account number. The e-savings is an online only account, yet I have no idea how to get online access. The Barclays website has a large button titled Register under a section Online Personal Banking, yet clicking that takes me to a page asking for my current account details. I don't have a current account only the e-savings!!!! Can't find any information online to tell me how to get an online account set up just for the e-savings. Have a chat with one of their online advisors - apparently I'll receive an account card, a card reader and a PIN at some point. Would have been useful for this information to be in the initial letter, I find this very poor regarding keeping the customer informed.0

it would definatly help if they advise more info on it when they send the letter out, They basically send you the details in 2 seperate letters and an email.. Well I finally received all the bits and pieces to get me online, but took nearly a month, and you seem to have to request everything from Barclays! Like Anna, I had to request the membership number several times - the one they sent me was for telephone banking, but this is a slightly different number...
Only one remaining question, which no-one at the call centre could answer - can you change your PIN on the authentication card? The website suggests you maybe able to do it at a Barclays ATM but that seems a bit strange as it's not a Visa / Mastercard etc.0 -

As regards changing the passcode, the letter which sent it to me says. "We recommend you change your passcode to something more memorable. To do this you'll need to log in with your membership number and passcode, then select 'Customise my site' in the left-hand menu and follow the instructions".
Edit: I've just noticed that you were referring to an 'authentication card'. I haven't got one of those, or seen a suggestion that I need one.0
