Got a bargain on some T&G styling products in boots today... T&G is on 2 for £7 again and DH needed some styling products. Spotted some styling sets at £9.99, one with blue sleeve called T&G style palette work and the other with pink sleeve called T&G style palette play. Both contain six 25ml pots of styling products, the work one has: no kinks smoothing balm, leave-in conditioning gel, twist-it curl balm, styling pomade, define-it wax and summer creme. The play one contains: define-it wax, firm-it hair glue, twist-it curl balm, rubber shine, styling clay and funky gum.

Anyway, the point of all that is hubby couldnt decide what to get so i showed him these sets and said why dont you get these? He said of course that they were 9.99 each and not included in 2 for £7. Of course, I remembered the fairly recent glitch on the 1lt shampoo bottles so thought, why not give it a go... to cut a (really) long story short, they did indeed go through for £7 for the two :D Result! :D

Now I appreciate that not everyone would go for this but they are nice looking kits, sorry cant find any pics anywhere and dont appear to be available online, indeed I havent seen them instore before so maybe they are new?

Also, hubby was after some pur: phuel shaving creme (Pic here), I hadnt heard of it but apparently its the dogs b****x  so anyway they retail at £13.50. Thought I would treat him and as it was in the mens section knew would get £4 off. Got a couple packets of chewing gum to take over £10 to get voucher. Put through till and came to £7 something. Went away very confused and a bit miffed not to get voucher. Later looking at receipt saw that in fact the product had scanned at £10.50, then minus £4 came to £6.50. Now I know this is still a lot to pay for shave cream but as I said my hubby said it was brill and at just under half price its a bit of a bargain for this if you fancy it.

    Hope this helps someone

Yes I had posted about the T&G palettes last week but they may not be available everywhere, have seen them in a couple of different Boots over here in Northern Ireland. Good value if you use these kinds of styling products

Will pm Liverbird to add to front page so doesnt get lost in thread again

In that case then, i might as well replace my Lancome L'Extreme mascara. Its my favourite mascara, but at £17 a time, its hardly very moneysaving.

Just seen in the paper that Lancome are starting a new 7 trial sizes free with 2 purchases promotion - not sure if this is in Boots but worth looking out for

Could be that I was not making my self very clear :rotfl:

    1) That is correct you don't get any points. The receipt that comes from the till is to go with the gift card so the person who recieves it will know how much it is worth.

    2) yes when you spend it you do get points see here more info.

    Hope that helps.

Right so you get points when spending giftcards. So if I used a 250 no7 voucher when buying no7 products I would get this too and also the bag? Thanks

I can't see why not the giftcard is treated the same as cash. Some people have managed to get the free bag when using a parenting voucher to get a free No7 item.

AH i see what you mean Calley (about gift cards)
I might call cust services tomorrow.
A lot of people on this board say that they bought this and that to take their total over £10 so they get a skincare voucher. I just though if you KNOW you are going to make sure you spend £10 anyway then why not buy a £10 giftcard firstly and maybe get a skincare voucher THEN get your shopping using the giftcard.

Can I just clarify Calley (or anyone else)
    1) when you purchase a £10 gift card you DO NOT get points

    2) when you spend your £10 giftcard do you qualify for points?

    Thanx in advance

would you not get a skin care voucher after also???

I would say yes when you spend but not sure on when you buy the giftcard. Because certain things are excluded on spends to get things like skin care vouchers. E.g formula and I would suspect the same in buying a gift card as you don't get points when you buy these items.

I assume the OP was trying to get two skin care vouchers by spending the same £10 twice.

Oh yeah thanks. Was thinking along the lines of it being points that would be spent not cash to get the bag! Silly me.

Just back from a weekend in Inverness - Taught my friend how to 'bootsie' Got 4 packets of Bodyform, in 2 lots - using money off vouchers, got a few goodies from a reduced display ( it was the shopping mall boots - not the retail park one) flash - mark & stain eraser pack of 2 £1, Gul Active Body Aloe Vera After Sun gel was £5.50 - paid 50p,The Spa Calming and relaxing bath crystals ( green tube) 250g 25p & Hat & Mitt Set Ble Arran £1.25. - Although have just discovered the lids on the Spa Crystals Tubes are not great - I now ave 4 empty tubes and a carrier bag of crystals..... The sa machine was not playing ball today - there was nothing on it. Looks like my friend has the Boots bug too now though.....

It was the Retail Park one I went into today but no bargains. I will look out for the flash - mark & stain eraser pack when I'm next in cos I think they're brilliant. Hope you enjoyed Inverness and glad you've managed to "train up" your friend.
    If I had known then what I know now . . .
