SA at Deepdale poured a full tube of crystals over herself the other day. But she was so miserable about correcting an overcharge that I didn't feel too sorry for her.
Do be careful with them - I managed to spill a tube on the bed when I got home (probably getting my just deserts!).

Just back from a short trip to Ireland.. has took me an age to catch up!
Just a quickie before bed.. had to go in Boots there to buy a few things I forgot to pack, couldn't use my AC card but the SA validated the receipt to see if I could claim the points back over here (spent €30)
anyone had a similar dilemma?0 -
Hi folks,
Has anyone tried the Avene bag gitch recently? I saw some in my local boots yesterday but couldn't remember the offer so didn't get one. I'd like to go back today and use my £5 skincare voucher and try to get the Avene bag. Any successful attempts in the last few days?

ecm09 wrote:Can points from receipts be added to your account later - even if they've not been validated?
My mum gave me a receipt that has 103 points on it, but she didn't get it validated - i.e. there's no barcode on the bottom for the SA to scan the points on.

no sorry love they wont do it anymore, theyre not allowed:T The best things in life are FREE! :T0 -
my fella tried to use his parenting club 500 point voucher yesterday in trafford centre but it didnt go on, teh sa said now you have to ring up customer services and get tehm added there. the girl added teh 500 points and said that when he pops in his card to get teh 500 points it will allow him to print off another 500 point voucher as an apology for having to ring up and she didnt take teh barcode number of teh existing voucher or anything, so he's got £10 worth of free points and given me the 500 point voucher coz in manchester the manager just adds them manually! yey!
£15 between us for nowt!
oooh! and i had a super duper time yesterday i got teh new jlo perfume (with free lipglosses) and a dior foundation and eyeshadow (with free gift with bag, purse and loads of make up and skin bits inside) and all for free with points! and ive still got £58 worth left! yey! all thanx to EI!:T The best things in life are FREE! :T0 -
Judi wrote:Guys i dunno whether you can help me. I have 1418 in points on my advantage card. Another 1063 is sitting there waiting in pending until Boots gets their act together and fix their advantage card machines that have been broken for months. I have a £2 paper gift voucher, and a 1000 points coupon which i was given as compensation from when i made a complaint about their advantage card machines, that has to be added to my account manually.
On top of that i have about £7 left of a christmas gift voucher.
Now, theres nothing else i really want or need and cant see the majority of these points being spent for months. Do you think, if i buy a higher priced item, and take it back a few days later (with the receipt), i will get cash back?
Equally, if i start collecting points with you. It stands a chance i will stack up a fair few points behind me, will i be able to buy something with the points and take it back for the cash? You see, these points are all well and good, but if theres nothing you really want or need, they are a bit worthless in the saving money department if you see what i mean.
they only let you exchange points items or bob teh points back on your card. why dont you just use them to stock up on stuff you definately will need like soap, toothpaste, shampoo etc. saves you spending actual cash on em elsewhere i guess?:T The best things in life are FREE! :T0 -
mcallister1 wrote:Perhaps we should have suggestions of things to buy in Boots that might be things needed rather than wanted. I know everyone is in different circumstances and with different stores but maybe it would be useful. My suggestions are tights ( on 3 for 2), tissues and batteries.
Not very inspiring I suppose. Also using the meal deal for picnics whenever we go to another town and are tempted to eat in a cafe.. weather permitting.
all teh soaps, handwashes and shower gel are on bogof :j:T The best things in life are FREE! :T0 -

Found this out by accident todayDormouse wrote:Great tip, but I was just wondering... Don't they usually write on the voucher after 1st use (in my experience, they usually write '1' on it), so wouldn't that confuse the SAs if they thought this was 2nd time, but the till said it was 1st?... so would they give it back?
If they do query it, I guess you could always come up with some excuse like, I tried using it before and it didn't work but the SA wrote on it anyway...
Or, maybe that's why they do put '1' on them, because they know it would work on more than one card!
But anyway, that's good to know, cheers for the tip!
They don't mark the cards here the receipt tells them if it's been used twice so they just check that. She asked me and i said yes, because i had - but against my other card, she replies well i says here you have another use so pop it back into your purse for next time0
