    Morning all:)

Quiet day today and yesterday. Still keeping spends down to the bare minimum... However I must confess last night I bought a set of hypnobirthing CDs from Ebay and a couple of birthing books from Amazon. I shall be taking the amount out of the Sure Start Grant, I am trying to majorly chill out after having a bad few weeks of stressing over going into labour so I consider them a positive purchase IYSWIM and can sell them on afterwards.

Mind is on getting ready for holiday on Saturday. Having a bit of a nightmare with our new van - long story which I won't go into now but it cut out on OH last Friday and it's been a bit of a trial trying to work out what's the matter. We initially thought we knew what it was - turns out to prob not be that so been pursuing a handful of other theories but basically is v. lucky I didn't SORN the car as we'll have to use it now to go on hols!

Going to jump in shower now before baby wakes up from nap, have a good day all x

    Boo back from holiday!

Had a lovely relaxing time down in Cornwall, has been just what I needed. I didn't transfer my spends money into my current account so do need to do that, luckily I had next month's money and other 'pots' to call on so it just needs balancing out.

Lots of ideas to work on, I am feeling a real nesting instinct at the mo so wanting to get lots tidied/decluttered/sold/thrown before baby arrives and I have neither the time nor the inclination to do any of that!:D

Main one that is on my mind is getting OH to take photos of me in my maternity clothes whilst still pg in preparation for ebaying them later on; I have found that the ones I've sold previously have always done better when I've 'modelled' them whilst pg rather than them laid out as is. I certainly prefer searching things out where I can see what they'll look like on a big belly rather than them resembling a potato sack hanging up on the back of a door LOL!

I also need to do an SOA for October and start forecasting Christmas presents and fundage in earnest. Has been on my mind and want to do as much as I can now.

Other very important thing is to get final baby bits, not much to get but want it all here for when we need it!

Definitely agree about the ebay clothes - I think I;d have much preferred buying maternity clothes with someone actually modelling them when pregnant - got some horrors when I was pregnant!!

LOL I know exactly what you mean! Maternity clothes really need to be shown what they look like 'in real life' IYKWIM.

Full of ideas today but need to harness my thoughts and write them down! My plan is to keep as busy as I can manage, tbh I'm struggling with very achy ligaments when walking, achy hips and a distinct lack of sleep - the latter I have had before and can just about manage but the former two are new to me :( I had a bit of a moment this morning when I felt ever so down, walking back home from dropping DDs off at school, which worried me. I'm 39+2 today and with my previous long pregnancies it's hard to contemplate I might have 4 more weeks of this - I'm really against induction if baby is fine in there but it's still a hard thought to deal with so hoping to adopt the 'one day at a time' mindset.

    Anyhow...

Today involves getting up to speed after coming back from holiday, so lots of trying to be organised:D Shopping delivery just arrived, menu planned for the week, need to check what I've put down for today.

Calendar dates need updating, including midwife appointments and any school things that have come up since we were away.

Also hoping to borrow a birthing pool from a friend, want to pop round one day either today or tomorrow but the sooner the better as I'll feel a lot more relaxed once it's actually here and set up ready to go:)

Other thing is hoping to start October's SOA and complete it over a few days, keep fretting am going to forget something so want to be uber organised now rather than later when I'll prob be stressing over late babies and whatnot:eek:

Well a super long lunch break for me - DS started napping around 11.30am and not woken up yet:eek: Starting to twiddle my thumbs now!

Have a mini-list of ongoing things which need sorting and are being tackled as thus through the week:
    • van - broke down right before holidays and has been a query over what exactly is the matter. Garage we bought it from have agreed to sort it out (they seem to feel it can't be anything too big) and have arranged for cousin who has a towtruck to pick it up tonight and drop it off for us in the morning.
    • old fridge freezer - was going to Ad-Mag or ebay it but the one we kindly got given by OH's mum which is considerably bigger is also seeming considerably older as it has iced up about 2 inches on the back wall:eek: So we may need to keep hold of it - need to consult with OH later about it.
    • washable nappies - still not sure what to do with these, was thinking about ebaying them, will look into it.
    • maternity clothes - as mentioned need to get these photographed now whilst still have bump, hoping OH will assist this evening.
Really should go and wake baby now!

    Afternoon all :)

Minibus/van/whatever you want to call it was picked up last night and should be currently residing at the garage where we should find out what's wrong with it at last. Tbh it's been a real pain - I'd be happy keeping our estate except for the fact we can only fit three littlies in and thinking baby wouldn't appreciate being fastened to the roof rack;):D

Need to phone up insurance company and renew the insurance on the estate with not knowing what's going on with van - DO NOT FORGET.

Fully stocked up with shopping and cheesy pasta bake being made later for tea - remember to use up salady things to go with it:)

Not much else to report - tbh I've been taking it easy and birthing things are occupying my mind more than money things, despite the whirl of ideas going round in my head. I need to write more lists so I don't forget anything!

Also to share with no-one in particular - I slept better last night than I have done for a good week or so so very happy to know I still *can* sleep somewhat "properly":j

  • Hi Jo, hope that the van/minibus isn't too costly for you. I agree though that baby covered in dead flies might not be the best look lol.

Glad to hear that you are taking it easy and that you are still managing to get some proper sleep, how long until baby's born?
