    What would you do?....

Have had my Vanquis for 18months (how time flies) and it has been great having a CC especially when no-one else would give me one. I now have another card with a much higher credit limit and a much lower APR (in comparison to Vanquis anyway!), which I have had for 6months.

I was going to get rid of my vanquis this month, I pay off my balance in full each month and have about £32 for July's statement to pay but I am now thinking maybe it would make more sense to hold on to it.

Does it look good having TWO CC running in good order or will one do the job just as well. My aim is to get to the stage where I can get a 15.4APR (or even lower!) card with ease and though I still have a way to go, not sure if having vanquis on my file will deter mainstream CCs from considering me.

Having only 2 cards is perfectly acceptable and would not be detrimental to you. Having one card, may seem as though you're new (ish) to credit so i'd keep Vanquis - even if you don't use it! So who is your other card with and what apr/limit out of interest....?

Please dont say a halifax card lol

Just had my limit increased from £250 to £750 ( on the 7th statement )

Will have had the card for a year in december anyone else had this type of increase most get a increase after 3 months.

Any idea what the next increase will be....... do you think I would get the upgrade to gold card once I reach 1 year with the card.
    I've ran the account perfect.

Thanks for that. Looks like it might be worth hanging on to Vanquis in that case and just spending inconsequential amounts on it.

My 'other' card is a FlyBe card and the rate is 24.9% with a limit of £3900

If they upgrade folk up to the Gold Card, does that mean the interest is lower? Sure the Gold is about 19% apr?
I know it doesn't matter if you pay it all off, I too have the abacus card, which has the highest rate, if you don't pay it off.
