That's where the DD guarantee comes in - contact your bank and ask for an immediate and full refund of the amount incorrectly collected.

    :)

interesting, that might get their attention and cause THEM some inconvenience as well as me.

Don't bother wasting your time with the call centres - they don't appear to have the access rights to their computer to change the charge rates.

Unfortunately no one has access to manually change the rates which is why they have to apply an adjustment instead.

Oh yes they do - the Directors Office Staff in Coventry have that access.

I'm not sure whether they can manually change the rates, or just ensure the old rates are used to produce the bill - but that's what they can do.

They might be able to send you a "bill" with the correct unit rates on it however this would not have been produced through there system and as you say would have to be done manually. It would still involve applying an adjustment to your account to correct the balance and the unit rates that appear on your account would still be the higher ones.

The bill I have in front of me has no higher charge rates or balancing credit.

How they produced it, as a customer I don't really care. As I said to them, they could have hand written it for all I cared.

However, I was somewhat surprised when it came back looking just like every other bill I had received from them (e.g. layout, typeface, categories, etc)

The only anomoly was that the bill was still split into two (based on an estimated intermediate reading) at the date of the increase, but the final bill I received showed both halves now at the pre-increase rates.

I appreciate that from your point of view all you wanted was a correct bill, which is what you got in the end, however I'd be very interested in how they did especially if it wasn't hand written.

It's not that difficult to produce a correct bill.

From personal experience I'd beg to differ

From personal experience I would beg to differ.

Readings from and to, prices, discounts, vat = bill.

It's getting the prices right that is the difficult bit
