30th birthday celebration

My brother wants to take his girlfriend away for a weekend for her birthday it would be from 28th april (friday) until 31st or 1st may. They are a bit strapped for cash but willing to spend enough for something decent. They are happy to leave the country or stay in the country but go somewhere other than where they live (york) Does anyone know of maybe a nice log cabin in the lakes or a cheap weekend away somewhere where there is plenty to do. Cost is most important i would imagine £100.00 a head would be there limit. I would welcome all suggestions.

A coach trip would seem to be the answer here. Most local papers have ads for these, generally well under £100 for 2 nights away, all meals included. Usually the
venues are seaside resorts such as Skegness, Llandudno, Morecambe etc.

Have a look at P&O ferries. We did a "mini cruise" from Hull to Bruges a couple of months ago & it was BOGOF, I think it cost about £80 for both of us. I'm not sure if the deal is still available, but it's worth a look. There's dinner on the boat to pay for on top, but it was very good food & if you booked it in advance you got a free bottle of wine too.
