Well obviously your research stinks
you need to go back to basics
or perhaps post it here so it can be corrected
Cool dude ? :rotfl: Pricesely in what way do I think I think I am a cool dude ?

For the benefit of others who appreciate advice and guidance

Investment trust are more accountable, listed on the LSE with a board of directors.
Investment are trusts closed ended funds, whereas unit trust funds shrink and grow making them harder to manage and thus for the fund manager to plan for.
Investment trusts always have a market for the shares, Unit trust operators can choose not pick up the phone as in times of crisis and SET the price ... etc..
Also up front charges on Unit trusts can be as high as 7% !
I am sure I did a post a while back on the advantages let me find it and link it

Perhaps 'research' should also include the search button of this forum :rolleyes:0 -

GOING OFF-TOPIC
Hi, Martin’s asked me to post this in these circumstances: While it’s easy to wander off-topic that often prevents newbies finding the information they want quickly and easily. Please keep this thread on topic. If you’d like to discuss non-MoneySaving related topics please continue your discussion in The MoneySavers Arms or Discussion Time. If you have any questions about this policy please email !!!!!!.
Please be nice to other moneysavers.0 -
Thanks for that isasmurf and Martyn. I hadn't expected to find that kind of silliness - it's what has always put me off other forums in the past. As a newbie I appreciate the advice that's being given by, I assume, people who know a lot more than me. That kind of spat is unhelpful to everyone.0

Shame you feel that way.
I would have thought it is the function of a forum like this to discuss all the issues.
I agree telling posters to !!!!!! off is unhelpful, however it does serve to prove the credibility of the individuals who were actually giving you some fairly specific advice that you may have acted on.
I hope you reread the initial posts and conclude that certain individuals were trying to help you.
Isamurf is strangley very choosy when he uses Martyns post0 -
Martyn
Is this Cornish Martin or MSE Martin?
Thanks for that isasmurf and Martyn. I hadn't expected to find that kind of silliness
There is a bit of a history here which you wouldn't be aware of as a more recent forum member. I can see the point being raised in relation to other similar threads and comments made in the past.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only. They are not financial advice and you should not treat them as such. If you feel an area discussed may be relevant to you, then please seek advice from an Independent Financial Adviser local to you.0 -
Did the OP not mean at the risk of him getting boring, not you, Deemy? Or was there some other insult?0
