Just interested to see if I can cut down any more...
do you not have any student loans or pay council tax, water bill, rent, water bill. probably u are staying with parents. once you move out your bills will rise for utilities and also probably for travel / fuel bills. but you seem to be doing well with being frugal, wish i could be like that

i dont think as you put it anyone is extracting the urine, they are stating an opinion. which is exactly what a forum is for. not everyone agrees with each others views. thats why we are all different and rightly so.

i think to be honest the OP needs no assistance in where to cut down, it appears he is pretty ok at it. from i can tell from reading his SOA im not sure its a cosher one to be honest.

  • why do birthdays/christmas have to be fun only if one gives / gets presents. i find it sad that things can be fun only if money/gifts are involved. cant one be with friends / family and have fun without the need for gifts (half of them what you dont want anyway).

my parents didnt bring me up expecting me to get presents at the drop of a hat. neither did i feel bad that i didnt get such things. people can be happy at such events without getting presents. doing something together can be just as fun. spending time that is memorable is much better than fretting over what presents to give and what we did not get.

to each his own i guess.

why does one have to go to a dentist to have their teeth scraped or what ever every 6m if their teeth are fine. probably some bought into the crap that one NEEDS to go every 6m to the dentist and have it poked and prodded and scraped. ever wondered why in the UK bad teeth get pulled out and the one opposite (on the opposite jaw) gets pulled out even if it looks perfectly fine, ever wonder whether if this would happen if people didnt get monetary inducements for procedures. dentists elsewhere dont do this and other peoples jaws turn out fine while here i get told the crap that if the opposing one on the opposite jaw doesnt get pulled out then there will be malalignment etc etc. the only thing that gets malaligned is some wads of money out of your purse. its been 10y or more since i had 2 wisdom teeth pulled out but i wasnt told (abroad) unlike here to get the opposing ones removes, even if i was told to get it removed i would not have agreed, while i find it here often that opposing teeth get removed even if they look perfectly fine, they just get removed with the excuse that things can go wrong (this told to me by a dentist here removing someone elses teeth when i queried why the opposing good ones were being removed as well). if one doesnt have a single filling or capped / crown or any dental work, and can take proper care of their teeth, why do they need to go to a dentist regularly. i would go to a dentist if i had problems with my teeth but not otherwise. others might go regularly their choice nothing wrong with that either.

mbga9pgf...Are you not in the military?

If so, you are in for a big shock once you get out into the real world ;) You will at some point in the future be forced to leave the military. Paying £200pm keep to the military for your quarters/food/council tax will increase considerably. (I'm sure you realise this hence your savings)

I notice you have no children either? Again, when you loss your wifes income due to children, then have a mortgage to pay, council tax to pay and all the other expenses a child will bring, things will change.

I doubt anyone on here will beat your expenditure unless living with parents, but i'm not sure i'd want to to be honest looking at your spenditure.

You have no kids, no pets, no entertainment, you dont buy yourselves new clothes, you're both running around with overgrown hippy hair, sky TV does not get a mention, you give nothing to F&F for xmas/birthdays:eek: What a fun life you 2 must be leading:rotfl: (Sorry) You only live once springs to mind.

My direct outgoings are about 6x the amount yours are, but i'm having so much fun doing it, have children, have a nice big house, pets, cars, goodies and lots of entertainment etc etc

It's not all about how tight we can be, but whatever floats your boat i suppose.

Total monthly income = more than you
Total monthly expenses = my income

If total monthly expenses happen to be < my monthly income, then i rectify that immediately by buying something i don't need. If i can somehow spend all of her indoors' income as well then i consider that to be a good month.
