hi everyone
Well I started off with great enthusiasm on Monday and managed all the list except for the fridge which I did first thing on tuesday. DH said he would do the windows because I couldn't reach. For the rest of the week,I did what I could between various visits to the dentist and my art group and othes. The upshot is that although I didn't get everything done, I now have quite a presentable house. Once a room is cleaned, I am keeping it swished and swiped on a daily basis. However, there are 4 more rooms to lick into shape but they are a nightmare; so it will be babysteps and charity bags and binbags. To be fair 2 of the rooms are work in progress - DH is laying new floors and so it will be a waste of time to do anything much as I will only be in the way. The other 2 are the spare bedrooms which are so bad that when I open the door I close it again very quickly. In my defence, I have decluttered a load of books to a local group and the ding room suite to a local charity shop this week - more to go next week. Sorrry I have not posted since last weeken but I seem to have great difficulty posting - they disappear and then I get fed up.Joined Slimming World originally in December 05 at 17st 9lb and then followed a very hilly route. I now weigh 11st 12 lbs. Whoops, I'll now have to confess to being 12st 12lbs.:o0 -

Quick question - my two want to make cakes but I don't have enough butter....can I make up the weight with olive oil?
Not olive oil, as the flavour is too strong. Have a look at the vegan thread ... or I've got these instructions (unfortunately in cups!)
one stick of butter is half a cup, use one third of a cup of vegetable oil or the mixture will be too wet
Or you can use prune puree (very low fat!) - puree half a cup of pitted prunes with quarter of a cup of water. Use less of this than you would butter otherwise it will be too moist. You may want to use one tablespoon of oil per cup of fat with the prune puree for taste/texture.
It's easier to make eggless cakes!0 -
Spirit - you have achieved a lot so well done! I have a spare room like yours  I do a bit at a time (this week I just sorted a box of books and the top drawer of the filing cabinet) and it does make a difference. I have to remember that it's 10 years worth of clutter and mess so it'll take a while to sort it all!"There's only one way of life and that's your own" - Levellers

I highlight my posts and copy them while I'm writing, just in case I lose the text when I go to post, as then I can just paste it in and try again!
You've done well this week... let Toots know how many stars she owes you!
I've finished constructing my chest of drawers and found both screwdrivers  Washing has been moved to TD. Think I might close the windows, put the heating on and have a bit of a rest before doing any more. And like Sexymouse, I like to be clean before I get into clean sheets, so I need to get the bed made and have a shower and wash my hair before bedtime!0 -
Mummyyof5 Happy Birthday to your DD.:bdaycake:

http://organizedhome.com/ in case any one missed it!!
I have inventoried my freezer and pantry and found that if I print 2 to a page they fit neatly into a binder I already own, hooray! feeling very organised now!!
As it is half term i have a huggggeeeee list of things to do and I have given myself the rest of today off in anticipation of a busy day!
Hope everyone has a good week!Go hopefully into each new day, enjoy something from every day no matter how small, you never know when it will be your last0 -
Greenbee - we'd already made the cake mixture before I saw your post. Cakes taste great - they only needed to add 1oz of oil so I guess that's why it wasn't overpowering. I'll try your recipies this week - we have a cup measuring set sent over by my sister.
Mmmm...time for cake!
Spiritofthesouthrest - It's maddening when the posts disappear - you seem to have done tonnes this week though! Good luck with the floor laying...my DH has just finished the kitchen and I agree there's no point doing anything until they're finished!!
