    Happy Birthday Kipper
    :bdaycake:
    Hope you feel better soon

OH has taken DD1 down town to have passport photos done - she's going to Germany later this year for an exchange trip. He announced this morning that she needs one regardless of us getting ours done and doesn't want to leave it too late (as if I haven't been mentioning this at least once a week since before Christmas..... ) Wish he was as bothered about sorting out the beds as our German student comes over next month and we haven't got anywhere to put her yet.....
Oh and last night he asked me if I had made his aunt a birthday card for today (no I hadn't:o ) as she's 103 today. Unfortunately we can't go to her do as he booked to take DD1 to see Arsenal today:rolleyes: and DD2 and I were sick earlier this week - not a present we want to give her.....;)
Looks like I'll have to stay in the warm and comp then......:D :D
FE - your English seems better than most people who have it as their first language - hope you get on your dream course.
SOD - glad you had a lovely afternoon.
Holidays - won't be going abroad until we all get passports sorted out - mine is very out of date (still in maiden name:eek: ) and not sure where it is at moment......:o :j Isle of Wight:j is going to be as good as it gets for now :j - really looking forward to it - hoping to get some decent pics of area my ggg-grandparents lived when they were on the Isle.

Hope everyone gets a win soon - I seem to have really p*ssed off the comping luck fairy......:rotfl:

melvis i didnt realise they werent interest free, is it taking years and years to pay it back? xx

It is for me as I only earn over £1250 per month (the threshold before making payments) once or twice a year and that's after 6 years in my job. I should go over £15k salary with next years pay rise though so will be making payments every month. I left uni in 2002 and still owe over £13k

  • Toni, I have been stuck with my bank since 2001; I only came off the register in 2004. So I am ok with that; I have a maestro, chequebook and overdraft but no credit cards, no loans, no contract mobile although I do have an internet contract (I have a USB dongle on contract with 3). I'm ok for now, I do not want any credit and I can just about cope without it. I am trying to fix my credit rating anyway so it's best not to do anything to rock the boat. I've had no trouble so far; I am receiving the benefits I should be. I do wish I could vote but my piece of mind is more important to me right now.
  • Toni, yes, Scotland gets it free, just like Wales (I think it;s Wales unless it's Scotland again) gets free prescirptions, ALL subsidised by English taxpayers !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! *and breathe*

Essexgal, thank you so much, that's so kind of you to say.

I know everyone pays tax, but what I meant is that in England we pay for these things, but they don't; everyone's tax from all over the UK goes into one pot so I feel we are subsidising them. I am now on benefits, but when I was working almost full-time, before I found out about HC2 certificates I was going without central heating to pay for my inhalers when aout 18 miles away I could get it for free. It's not having a go at other people, eg Joe public, more the government; it should be the same for everyone, same with cancer drugs, IVF and anything else. Stupid postcode lottery.

And I need to rant about something: Some people are so damn rude, ungrateful, and negative. I am talking about the presales thread I started, which has been moved from Grabbit to Discount Vouchers. Some of the posts are so  Seems sometimes we can never win around here; we try to help others, and reduce chances for ourselves (same with posting comps and freebies etc) and then get  for it. Oh well.

*jesus, I can go to uni, see the essays I've been writing today*:rotfl: Must enter some comps.

The flipside of that argument ( im very much into politics ) is that Scotland and Wales also contribute with taxes but dont get the funding as much as England, look how london is funded? what use is that to Scots and Welsh?
also with the decline of many industries in Scotland /wales they need more help than England itms,They have also been a test bed for such issues as Poll Tax, on plus side they get all day pub openings first! xxx
