When my kids left home aged 18 I gave them each a bill for their upbringing.

    18 years = 6500 days breakfasts @ 50p = £3285
    lunch @ 75p = £4927.75
    dinner @ £1 = £6570

    etc etc

They didn't pay a penny but I fully intend to be a burden in my old age :rotfl::rotfl:

    hmmmm
    thoughts please :D
Moving men (local) - £35 p/h for 2 of them, should take about 3 hours tops. but if rolls over, could get expensive
    vs
Moving men (well known) - over £250 quoted but have testimonials, would have to pay for an entire day's move when it shouldn't take that long
    vs
Moving myself with a hirevan (need to get someone to drive van) but as its on a Sunday, would need to hire for 2 days - roughly £80-100
    vs
Moving myself with my family's friend with a white van - would have to pay him for the use of the van/petrol and would have 4-5 people working on the move this way, could be £50, could be over £100.. but HAS to be the Sunday, the moving men I could have on the Monday

which would you go with?
Note, I have a maximum of a 1 person flat, even less than most as I have hardly any furniture ;)

    Gem,
This is just my view but moving is stressful, moving yourself will be stressful and knackering, me personally I would pay someone to move you, then you are not too tired to make your bed at the other end.

Aye, very true. It's just that I have very little stuff - I'm moving to somewhere with a fully fitted kitchen, a lounge with sofas and stuff, and a bed in the bedroom, so what I have is my possessions, a PC or two and my shiny big TV, certainly nowhere near a full load :( when I could, if I move on the Sunday, get my parents, OH and family friend to move me, at our own pace, and probably get it done in half a day

    I hate making decisions :(
