Just trying to ensure I maximise my chances of acceptance.
Application 1 : Online : I asked for no overdraft and received immediate acceptance. :j
Application 2 and 3 : Online : I stated existing customer, ( as above) three working later on depositing trip to local branch I was informed nothing else showing up except Account No1, Branch asked me if i wanted to open accounts 2+3 their and then to which I :j and replied. :T
Whilst I wasnt interested in an overdraft as was only going to use the accounts to gain 5.00 monthly reward (s) and debit card (s) use, today on a visit to another branch for 50.00 switch incentive "interview" :rotfl: I discovered that the recommended overdraft level for me was 100.00. :rotfl:I did mention that i was minded to keep the Nationwide account open being as it has a 3000.00 overdraft limit.0 -

Can't find it on their web site, although they do offer 4 months interest/charge free overdrafts when switching.0 -

Wasnt mentioned to me, switching interview was bit of a torrid affair, seems they was trying to weed out the non genuine switching peeps. While I was waiting someone mentioned to me that they have two tiers of switching payments, 25.00  and 50.00, i was informed at the end that I would get 50.00 paid immediately. :j
"Is That your main account"

At least they didn't then say ..... "name them"?
Which was what I got last time I was paying for a car on Debit Card. At that point ... with the salesman looking at me intently from the other side ... and the receptionist's cleavage doing likewise (or so it appeared) .... I just blanked out! Fortunately managed to shake all 3 distractions from my eyeline .... and at least get all the utilities + values.
Otherwise it was a long walk home.If you want to test the depth of the water .........don't use both feet !0 -

Halifax don't think so. They want 14 days to think about my first (and so far only) application.
So much for my application "blitz"! Think I'll hold fire with the others...or should I just pile in and make them anyway?
Think I'll now wait for the outcome of the first application, rather than do another one and risk ending up with 4 accounts(!), and if it doesn't materialise I'll go the branch route as BLF did (and maybe grab myself £50 into the bargain).
Will wait now and go for the 3 x BoS accounts tomorrow.0 -
I applied as an existing customer. I already had a HICA and now have three new Reward accounts. Did all three applications online in quick succession. Looking to convert the HICA over.
Are BoS accounts really considered as separate from Halifax ones for the purpose of the three per customer limit??
SuzeYorkshireBoy wrote: »Quick question for those who have applied for multiple accounts and who were already Halifax or BoS (High Interest) current account customers...
Did you apply as an existing customer, or say that you weren't already a customer?
For those of you new to Halifax, did you say that you were an existing customer on the applications for accounts 2 to 3(6)?

You are probably right about the "forced" closure. No harm in waiting...
I may wait and see about the BoS accounts, as I'm going to struggle to fund six accounts by the end of the month anyway (will be recycling the same £1k)!

If you prompt them they may insist you close one down. Only my thoughts though.According to the respective T&C's yes.
