someones already said it but if you are in the south OISTINS on Fridays is a must, but your partner would know this already if he has a villa on the island, so the best tip i can give you is ENJOY YOURSELF
  • Wish I was going again!!! We went last March, it was the most fanastic holiday. Have a great holiday.

I've been in Barbados a few times. Most recent was a few weeks ago on the 'easyCruise' . Here's a few pointers: Bridgetown is more like 'ghosttown' on sat and sun. I personally didn't have any vaccinations for the trip but i suppose its better to be safe than sorry. Harbour Lights and the Boatyard are the highlights of Bridgetown entertainment. St Lawrence Gap is generally where the night action is best. You can use Barbados Dollars or US Dollars in the shops generally. Try the Jerk Chicken..its great!
I've started a forum about the easycruise (https://www.bigorangeboat.com) as it stops there 2 days a week but it includes sub forums for the islands it visits. If you get some time when you get back it would be great if you could post a trip report of your time there. Have a great time !

  • Try out Harrison Caves. An Island tour in a 4x4 is a must as it lets you see all this island. We went on one on our first day and then hired a car for the remaining week. Gave you an insight into the driving and roads. If you are hiring a car make sure you have a good map as you can easily get lost, but fear not, just stop and ask the locals where you are and how to get to wheer you are going. For a nice lunch and view the pottery factory (can't remember its name) has a nice cafe with views over to Bridgetown.
  • Bathsheba & North Point are must visit places.

been nine times - were did you think I got that name? best tip fill the visa form in and check it TWICE. When you get off the plane run, to get in queue
join the second one near barbados nations, when they have all been stamped you get moved.
money either us dollars 2 to bd or sterling 3 to bd but exchange rate is 3.60
change money at the bank better exchange rate.
use the bus 1.50bd anywhere on the island.
if you hire a car and get lost use the bus signs for help.
i.e. inter city means you are getting closer to bridgetown and
out of city the other way.
you can drink the tap water - limestone island

have a great time not long till I go back 14th april
    bye
  • Oistins Tuesdays for the fish
Get a moke and drive around the island; the caves, the whole eastern side are fantastic
St. Lawrence Gap is the coolest place on the island but there's some happenin' beach bar on the west side that's good in the afternoons

fantastic place, fantastic. First place I was ever banned from karaoke :D
In the United Kingdom 200,000 people are bitten by dogs every year and some people will die as a result. Of those bitten, 70% are children... So the question has to be asked....... Has the time come to ban children?

Stayed in an Almond resort on the island too and would agree 100%.

Some restaurants were quite nice(if you could book them) but the rooms and showers were very basic.

I really don’t know why some of the people went there as it would have been a lot cheaper to have bought a couple of cases of Bacardi and stayed at home getting inebriated before lunch; instead of sitting at the bar all day and doing the same.

It was my first, and last, experience of an ‘all inclusive’ hotel.

    hi
yes for the past five years we have stayed at the almond village
we stayed at the club once and did'nt like it, each to they own
but both have now been upgraded and they were working on getting
a beach for the club by bringing in sand from bridgetown.
I am not bothered what hotel I stay in since I love all of barbados
