Its worth noting that Primus have a min call charge of 7p for normal Mobile Calls. I quote from site:

:Prices are based on Primus Saver postpaid rates and are shown in pence per minute, inclusive of VAT. All rates are charged as shown and are charged per minute. Tariffs are effective from 15th February 2005 and are subject to change as specified in the Primus Saver terms and conditions. A £0.07 minimum call charge is applied for calls to UK mobiles. For all other calls there is a minimum call charge of £0.04. The rates shown apply from fixed line phones. International rates are applicable at any time of the day. UK Local and National calls will vary in price depending on peak/off-peak and weekend. Primus Saver Terms and Conditions apply. E&OE.:

Actually, Primus Saver Option 2 gives free evening and weekend calls of up to 90 minutes duration from a BT landline to UK 01/02 numbers.

Can you hang up after 90 minutes and then redial for free or is it literally the first 90 minutes?
  • I phoned Primus to sign up and was told the people who deal with it aren't in until after midday. Seems a bit strange. Was also told I could sign up via uSwitch.com but I can't get it to suggest Saver Option 2, it keeps picking Primus Freetalk Plus 2 at £2.99 a month.

Yes - but just before would be prudent!

Apparently, that's normal - see Post #331 in THIS THREAD.

They've been told but blame uswitch - see that same Post #331 again.
Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.

    Good point! ;)

Phoned again and signed up. Rep was friendly and professional. Only took a few minutes.

Can someone please confirm, on the Primus Saver Option 2 tariff, whether a call made in the evening/weekend will also incur a 4p charge or is this only for calls made during the day???
  • This is only calls made during the day and chargeable evening & weekend calls such as 08/09/07/118/00.
  • I could have misunderstood but I thought the Primus rep said I would get a welcome email the day I signed up but I haven't received anything 5 days later. Can anyone confirm if I should have received an email by now, before I contact them?

I received emails to welcome me and when they set up my online account with details of account number etc. I would certainly phone and enquire - they may have your wrong email address.
  • Gave them a ring. They are waiting on new information from Head Office to be added to the welcome pack and are holding back the most recent welcome packs until that is completed.
