  • Is there a time on the cctv tape.
Did you say that the Manager telephoned and asked you and your collegue to look under the desk to see if the money bag was there. Could that be what you are picking up, an empty bag from under the desk at the request of your boss.
Seriously seek guidance and go through exactly what happened from the minute you got up to the time you went to bed. Have everything clear in your mind

Everything in the later posts is very vague and makes little sense to me.

I used to run off licences for a major chain and whilst realising it is probably not the same as franchises, I'm quite certain that the correct procedures, policies etc in either situation would and should ultimately be the resposibility of the person in charge, thus the boss should be accountable for ensuring they are followed, certainly over cash handling before any other parts come into it?

I know it's not the same thing, but when I took over one particular store, we did our usual first day in charge audit which strongly indicated fraud had occurred. A full CID investigation was instigated by the company and all the staff, including those who'd left the company between audits, were questioned at the police station. After several months investigations, the police closed the case without taking it to court as although it was clear what and how it had been done, the police felt it couldn't be proved conclusively as to who actually did it - and this part is the point I'm trying to make. Surely, (if I've read and understood this part correctly) all those involved in events of that morning will be questioned by the police irrespective of whether the manager has questioned the boss  . I think someone else has already mentioned it too, but surely the police will have asked for the cctv footage from the day/s before when the money was supposed to have been put there? They would most likely want to have evidence showing the money actually being put into the bag too surely for the reasons others rightly said earlier? I'm pretty sure the police will be asking all these sorts of questions too!

As many others are saying here Deni100, there is a lot of things that simply don't add up. I hope you are getting good legal advice. Hang in there and keep fighting.

I have read this thread over and over....something is still not right....in the absence of any further input from the OP, I think we could be adding to their troubles by some of our "back office" lawyers input....in the absence as well of any real indication of what the police case is, and the very nature of this forum (we only have the OP details of what was said and had happened)... we may be barking up the wrong tree and offering the wrong type of advice.

The accused is innocent until proven otherwise....if there is to be a court case, perhaps we should wait for the result, the accused should have by now taken proper legal advice...we will not be accorded the luxury of hearing the other sides statement or viewing the evidence prior to the case or the CPS submissions.

Time to put thread to bed, without any more input from the OP we are just fanning flames. Proper legal representation is a must....and although it sticks in my throat to say this again...its up to the courts now to decide, even though nearly every poster in this thread is "in support" of Deni's innocence....we are making some real assumptions based on one side of the story...I think I will sit back and wait for Deni to post again with an update before I can really be happy about what is being said in this thread...

Indeed and we can only make posts and suggestions on the basis of what we have been told.

Initially is seemed relatively clear but as this has gone on it makes less sense to me and feel that something (lots of things?) are missing from the story although obviously I have no idea what they may be.
