Oh knitting needles!
Knitting was going really well! It's now 10 inches long at least.
But I started off with 30 stitches, and now I have 32. And I have a weird big loopy bit as one of the stitchesMurphy's No More Pies Club #209

I haven't updated this for ages!
I'm still knitting
I've had requests from some of my friends for scarves for Christmas, so I'm going to be busy for a while. One of my friends has requested eco yarn - I can find eco wool, but he's allergic to that. The only eco yarn I've found so far is £7.50 for 100g :eek:Murphy's No More Pies Club #209

You could always find some cotton jumpers in a charity shop to unravel and knit up. That's ecological!
I have seen organic cotton yarn and I think you can also get organic bamboo. Not sure how cheap it is, (probably not very!) but scarves don't use too much so it might not be too expensive to make.0 -
Can anyone help? I've done something wrong, and now I've got a loopy bit. It's more like a missed stitch than a dropped stitch. My knitting fell off my needles, so I put it back on and carried on, but I must've done it wrong somehow.
But since I don't know what I've done, I don't know how anyone else canMurphy's No More Pies Club #209

Thank you! I' surprised by how easy it is. It is quite hard, but I always thought it would be nearer impossible. I'm going to try something a bit more challenging for my next one I think, though.Murphy's No More Pies Club #209

I also swapped my 5mm needles for 8mm ones at first, and used chunky wool. For some reason it was easier, and the stitches were bigger so it was quicker to get anywhere. Now I'm back with my 5mm needles as they give a different effect, and it's much easier than it was at first.Murphy's No More Pies Club #209

I'm still waiting for flatmates mum to teach me. I have tried from the net and books etc. It just doesnt work..
Cheers for the tips tho. I don't really want to knit anything chunky and have easy needles and double knit wool which I was told was best to start on.What Would Bill Buchanan Do?0 -

This may sound like a really strange idea, but... have you thought about a community centre, village hall, WI? or the like that has groups that meet ( This is going to sound patronising no matter how I put it., but no offence meant. ) say of the older generation who may knit and would be happy to get you started.
I'm the opposite I knit, crochet, sew etc and have no-one to pass the skills onto.£2 Coins Savings Club 2012 is £4.............................NCFC member No: 00005.........
