It depends on the retailer you took the contract out with. Read through their T&C's regarding the bills that they accept and it should tell you whether they require original or photocopies. I am pretty sure one retailer I read about only accepts originals, but I can't think who it is now . However they might have changed that particular T&C now. Always keep the originals unless that company wants it, but make more than one photocpy of it before sending them out, because if its lost in the post then you have back up copies either to send or to refer to.
Dont forget to shred up the copies and recycle them after you dont need them anymore, like after the contract has finished!

I have a mobile from Mobileshop and have received my first cashback on time.
Today I received a letter from O2 about their Bestplan service where they check your usage and work out the most favourable price plan for you. In it they advise me to switch to their o2 25 plan at £16 a month.
I am am about 9 months into my 12 month contract so will this affect my final cashback?

Check the t&c, I seem to recall that it stated you cannot change tariff or you invalidate the cashback (clearly an MS term as network lets you change tariff after 120 days).
just checked - in their cashback faqs it statesWhat happens if I downgrade my tariff?
If you have downgraded your tariff Mobileshop.com will not be able to process the cash back claim.

Bargin,
I suggest that you read the thread named O2 Discount500/750 (or something like that name) before you change your tariff. basically if you wait until the 11 month point of your contract and ring them up to give 1 months notice of cancellation then they will probably ofer you a new phone, more minutes more texts and all for less money.
In my case Iwas on the online 200 tariff with 200 minutes, 50 txts costing £30pm. After doing the above I got a new phone W800i, 500 xnet mins and 200 texts for £12.50 pm. As I say read the above thread for more examples.
Hope this helpsand short arms!0 -
RECORDED (signed for) can actually get lost as it goes through the normal post and has to be signed for when it is delivered if it get's that far, from what I have read, if it is lost then you only get a small amount of compensation.jon_r wrote:i sent my orig copy,BUT photocopied to keep a copy, sent it RECORDED post that way it cant get 'lost'
Whereas sending it SPECIAL DELIVERY costs a bit more, it goes through secure channels at the post office and you can claim compensation of up to £500, enough to cover a cashback claim.Nearly debt free

I got a recorded delivery letter today from my insurance company and the post man simply put it through the letter box without trying to contact me!!
They are a shambles.
