Well i have to say i have been had been using them every 2 weeks for the last 6 months as once we get out benefits we do a shop so i would say that i am hardly a new customer and they have never not been paid or there ever been a problem with a payment.

Like others here i will be cash only from now on as i dont need the stress or need to be worrying about losing my bank account.

I think its disgusting for a company who says they are trying to help you save money do this. Like i pointed out to them that £100 was nothing to them but to me its all i have to pay bills and live.

  • This happened to me last year and asda customer service were as helpful as wet bog roll.
I had been using them for a year when they took 2 amounts from my electron and took 3 days to refund, left me penniless and no money to pay for gas (pp meter) I only got it so fast cos my bank were really good and helped.
been using sainsburys since then and they are great

  • I had this problem when we had a LTSB debit card, it is pure lazyness of asda to clear the pre-payment checks, it put us of useing them too

this goes back a few years now, so shows they dont actually care the problems they cause:rolleyes:
Thats it, i am done, Blind-as-a-Bat has left the forum, for good this time, there is no way I can recover this account, as the password was random, and not recorded, and the email used no longer exits, nor can be recovered to recover the account, goodbye all …………. :(
  • I hadn't heard about any of these problems - I shop all over the place: Sainsbury, Co-op, Tesco, Aldi, wherever its cheaper on the day. I shall certainly give Asda a wide berth in person and online. I know they are cheap but I do compare everything in minute detail and there are bargains even in local shops, and I can manage without them.

Thanks for this. Would like this to be widely known to the buying public, it's a disgrace. Anything queried on Tesco online service is dealt with immediately - not that anything like this ever arises.

The whole thing gets my goat but there ads try to say we are your friend helping you save money and i guess as someone in my current position i am the target audience. So this really shows them for what they are and once i have made the decision that it it really is it for me and i wont be going back even in store.

Well following off from this story i did as i said i would and took my 2 weekly budget along to Lidl to see how far my budget would stretch and i would say i am really pleased with what we got there. They had some great deals which we of course took advantage of and so far i think i will be going back again although we may try Aldi next to see what they are like but anything has to be better than Asda after there games.
