I expect you wouldn't get one if you've already got a Barclaycard. It doesn't look like a particularly special card anyway.

I have just applied for a sky card. you complete the form and eventually they ring you on the number you have provided and after a few questions they then say you have been approved. I agree that the card is nothing special, it also backed by barclaycard. But they do offer 0% until january and that is the only reason I will be using them, after which I will revert to my other cards, another one to consider is Sainsburys.
  • We found them very slow to actually issue the card - so much so that we complained about the delay and got a 2 month extension to our 0% card.

I applied online on Sunday for the card and have been approved yesterday! They said card would be with me in a few days. The only thing I do not understand is the fact that for purchases my credit limit is £3500 and for balance transfers my limit is £6900? Why do they do this??

Pretty good online account info. But daily £1k spend limit can be a downer for some.
    I know nothing

Please don't get offended by this, it's just a question, but would you expect to get a higher limit?

In other words, do you think based on your credit record that they have set it too low?
  • Richgirl with a limit of £250? You dont sound rich to me. You got that credit limit becosue you have too many cards or you have bad credit.
I'm not poor i'm just skint
  • Hi Omar

I have 3 Barclaycards and had no problem being accepted for a Skycard 8 months ago. Was given a 7k limit straight away. All went through in about 7 days,. I did have to wait on card for 6 weeks, but this was when it first started up-I was able to BT straight away before i received the card and paid No Fees on BT's. Think its 2% now to BT.

Ive had no problems at all and their CS have been excellent.

I have to say after being told the credit limit on our new skycard, being that it is also £3500, that I am not impressed with this card.

WE have never been offered a limit so low, ironic really as our credit standing has never been bad and our amount owing is a lot lower now thank to the advice on this site.

We were told that they could agree to larger balance transfers but that the arangement fee would not be capped at £50.00.

I think they have done this to real people in with a long 0% balance transfer periodand then charge then the interest in an around about way.

We have also not received the card yet and cannot do the balance transfers until we do therefore cutting down the time the balance transfer 0% period.

We are now wishing that we had gone to somebody else.
