2. The 15GB referred to the size of webspace a particular ISP was offering and isn't a download limit that you need to worry about.
3. The TV ad for Tiscali Broadband doesstate that it is subject to a fair usage policy - but then I was looking for it.
4. Tiscali is (are?) crap
5. Where is Froggitt......Not even wrong0 -

It is strange that they're telling you that you're using too much - however they're not telling you how much your using and giving you an idea of what an 'acceptable' usage amount is.
To be cheeky, so that we have it as reference, what has your usage been for the last few months? I'd like to know what it takes for Tiscali to start implementing their 'unlimited' fair usage policy.0 -
I wish I could tell you what my usuage had been WebJunkie but I rather convieneintly for them I cannot access that part of the site. I think the whole T&Cs is much too vague and like you say there should be a number that tells you what the limit is, not just talk about 'fair usage' and 'large files'..... grrrr!Official DFW Nerd 2100

I use this little program called Net Meter, you can get it from here
http://readerror.gmxhome.de/
Just install it and it will tell you over Days, Weeks and Months just what you are using.

Funny but many years ago they were among the first to offer pay as you go dial up internet access, with no monthly fee, it was quite a chunk of cash to get the initial CD to sign up and then funnily enough their system crashed and their CS number was never manned. Complete waste of money.
If it was free I wouldn't sign up to this rubbish company, hope you can get out of the contract on the grounds of an unfair contract and misleading advertising...Good luck.;)0 -
i'm having the same problem with talk talk broadband. their "unlimited" service started limiting my p2p sharing between 4pm-12pm a while back and has now more or less cut my bandwidth completely. i received no email or letter of warning. just suddenly wasn't able to share files. apparently i have probably been put on a heavy user list but they couldn't confirm this to me, nor could they confirm what happened to any warning i should have received. their suggestion was for me to call their 0906 technical support line to ask them (i'd already waited 1/2 an hour on their 0870 line). it really is a disgrace.
i have so many complaints about this isp that i could go on all night. what is annoying me particularly is that i ordered the broadband in march last year, and due to their spectacular incompetence it wasn't connected until the end of april. this means my contract runs until the end of april and i can't get out of it before. i truly and passionately hate this company and urge anybody who is even considering doing business with them to hit themselves repeatedly around the head with a brick instead. it will be less painful.0
