Suma looks interesting, but at a minimum order of £375 more than a little out of my league!
my minimum order with Suma is £250 (I guess it could depend on where you're located). I first thought that was loads, but with my sister and a friend (who both have kids) we easily make it!

...but not if one could get enough "households" to join in a communal order. I guess this is where people in groups such as churches, suitable workplaces, etc have a head start - as it will be so much easier for them to find enough people to join in bulk ordering.

I am pleased with myself today - I managed to get rid of lots of baby things to my friend who is going to cut mine and the childrens hair in exchange :j

If things get tougher I shall be sorted for haircuts as her daughter is a year younger than mine so we can trade :D

Thank you Caterina, true over the fence friend.

Oh lol, I feel so HAPPY. :j It is sorted. When we moved into this house lots of the builders were still on site and I made endless mugs of tea for them and I have had my karma back today  . The joiner came out after work and got onto the phone to the plumber, who I also had made tea for 3 years ago and they have sorted out my leak. Joiner was so careful as he had to cut over a rat run of pipework and the plumber explained how to repair the pipe (plastic fittings) over the phone. Joiner then repaired the flooring and even offered to lay the carpet back (but I am leaving that as I want it re-stretched by a fitter). He re-charged the boiler and got everything working again

I was chatting to joiner and he said how tough things were at the moment and he was telling me about his 2 little ones. Anyway, as a result of my problem re co-ordinating everything, he is now thinking very seriously of setting up such a business as he knows all the tradesmen. I have told him that he will be top of the list for me and my 67 neighbours here, when he is ready

2 full hours work plus travel and he wanted to charge me only £30. I gave him £60 and the spiced fruit loaf that was baking.

What has been really nice is the feel -good feeling that I have now got and maybe this young man and his family will have found a way to survive the tough times ahead. Brings it home that no man is an island.

    :D:D:D:D:D my mood

I am so glad your leak has been sorted and isn't it nice to know there are still great honest tradesmen around? It is those men who deserve all the work and money from us. Bet you are pleased and relieved.
