We are burning all our packaging off grocery shopping daily, in our open fire so that we don't have to put heating on.

    Errr..... ......errrr...

    Two thoughts on this:
    1. Hand the stores back their unnecessary wrapping - if enough of us do this..then we will teach them not to use so much in the first place.

    2. and where the  comes in......errr....I have an idea that its not a good idea to burn plastic. Doesnt it create dioxins in the air - which we then breathe in - and is NOT a good idea? I'm not very technically-minded - but I seem to recall we need to be careful just what anything we burn is composed of.

this is a very good book and one I would buy again. Easy to read and lots and lots of very interesting stuff about how to make your home and the people in it safe. It starts by listing all the health problems you can get with excessive emfs and radiation eg tiredness, anxiety, memory loss (senior moments), thyroid, headaches. There are a lot more and the book also delves into em sensitivity and how to protect against it.

some of the most important stuff: don`t look into a halogen light as it can burn the retina, curling tongs and straighteners are bad and if used it should be before 7pm or sleep can be disturbed, mobile phones should not be against the body when on standby or against a baby`s head eg if the phone is on standby in a bag on the side of a pushchair, dects are very bad, transmitter boxes ie tv to another room are very bad, be at least 2m away from a plasma screen, don`t charge mobiles in the bedroom at night. There is too much to write but I am very glad I got the book and now have to decide how to tell my dd not to use the portable induction hob I gave her

Why on earth are we not being told this stuff??? :(

  • Hi
Didn't see the news but as I currently work for Rosebys I know that the only reductions at the moment are the same as before the annoucement. But this might all change over the weekend, it's all a bit confusing and very upsetting for the 2000 staff, but we all trying to keep positive (at least in my branch) and hoping that someone will want to buy us.
