I have one of these and it's brilliant
http://www.superkettles.co.uk/index.html
It's been on for a year and I think its reasonably energy efficient.
Power rating. 230-240 volts, 50 Hz a.c. Heat-up: 700 watts, stand-by/maintain temperature: 45 watts. The SuperKettle is electronically controlled and designed to be left switched on unless it is not required for several days. The low power consumption, less than 3 amps, also make the SuperKettle ideal for use on current-limited supplies such as in caravans or from suitable portable generators, and avoids the long wait for low wattage or gas kettles to boil.C.R.A.P.R.O.L.L.Z Able Archer0 -

SammyKaye, you got a great bargain today! Good luck with the job application.0

Well done Sammy-Kaye. I wish the charity shops near me had sales. I have no use for curtains as blinds are fitted in my flat, but I could use some curtains to make sausage dog draught excluders.
Now after all reports of Stardrops on here I have never ever been able to find any until today when I popped into my local home bargains (just to look for stardrops) when I found them - they had lots of them.:j
Stardrops ordinary
Stardrops concentrated (I bought one of each as they were cheap)
Starclean
Starclean pine disinfectant.
I am toying with the idea of going to the BHF furniture shop and buying a small shelf unit that they have on offer for £10 as I could make use of it in my 'office' because I could put files etc on it as well as books. Then I did see a nice nest of teak tables these were also cheap and would look nice on the one side of the sofa and I would be able to put my new telephone on them. Maybe I shall go back on Monday and see what they've got.0
