Ahhhhhh MRSMCAWBER you beat me to it
I don't know if it lasts longer after freezing, we get through milk quickly here so it doesn't stay in the fridge for too long anyway :rolleyes:I am a coffee bean0 -
cant believe i did this.... but after reading the tip some pages back on here i crept out of bed at 1am and topped up all the bottles of diluting juice with water  as i have a son who will use half a glass of dilute to half a glass of water and i have had enough!! those bottles are heavy to carry!! and we are constantly running out
i tried the same thing with the bubble bath and shower gel but it does not seem to have worked!!! he will easily pour in 1/4 bottle of bath foam per bath!! :mad:0 -

Yep. I know the feeling! hihihi.
For the bath foam and shampoo we installed a nifty little thing called a dispenser. And instructed the kids stricktly that they only need 2 times 'pump' to have enough. but even for the bigger ones.. it would take a heck of a lot of pumping action to get the amount they used to use...

people have been talking about storage. The whole of my stored food, including 46kg of flour, is is a normal sized under stairs cupboard. The side opposite the door and on the far left are full of shelves. There is a big slope going down to the left so I am really talking about a normal awkward space. The shelves are 5" deep and have 6 1/2" spaces in between. They are no longer filled with odds and sods but with a whole range of lock and lock that stack together (I have been collecting them since they first came out a long time ago)
The shelves on the far left are filled with long term storage such as jars of honey, corned beef and peanut butter etc then just in front of them I have two 3`6" stacks of lock and locks fullof all my flour. On the right wall I have hooks and various things hanging and also on the wall to the left of the door
So I have a nice empty space in the middle and it is easy to get in and out with a head torch by the way. I store my shopping trolley in there and it is full of food that I know I will need sooner rather than later. My vac is also in there.
Tbh it is no longer a cupboard that I dreaded opening
ps: I am just back from a motorway journey and I was horrified to see fiel after field of wheat and other grains, looking brown instead of golden. Pity help the farmers0 -
My understairs cupboard sounds like yours, but I used to make wine and hubby racked it out for bottle storage (I don't do it now). However, right at the back, is a big cardboard box full of tinned stuff that we always use, and other stuff in front to hide it (so they don't have me committed). I would like shelves in mine like that too.0

The field at the back of me is a horrible colour of sickly brown too, unless we get some hot sun fast I think its a dead loss.0

I'm feeling for you all there. Over here prices tend to be a bit higher overall, but we're not about to suffer a loss of a crop.
Couldn't bulk buy and store to any huge extent... not just as storage space is an issue, but I'd be thinking bugs, mice, forgetting dates and things going off. Wouldn't suit my minimalist nature.
Wishing you all luck with your endeavours though :TSoftstuff- Officially better than 0070 -

Get the inflatable/guest beds in! If it all goes pear shaped ---well we're on our way!
