friday 6/2/09 What small dfw things have you done today???

:DWhen we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.

But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free;)

Examples could be charging your phone up at work instead of at home to save your electricity, hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.

So be proud of those small steps, they really are important.:D

Today i will:
  • check online banking -
  • update spreadsheets
  • storecupboard lunch
  • cook tea for oldies and eat for free
  • laundry hokey cokey for OH

Fay, what do you mean yesterday was a non event? You launched your diary - that was some party, I bet you're still picking up the glasses from it :D  Bless all who sail in her

And it's the weekend, and I've come into work early because it is really snowing hard here. Forecast is that it'll get clearer later but I didn't want to drive at school starting time  Not much I can do DFW, as tomorrow evening I fly to sunnier shores for 2 weeks :D:D:D But here goes, today I have/will:
    • charge my phone at work
    • store cupboard supper (and I've made a shepherd pie for the day we return :D )
    • on-line banking (I'm taking my card reader with me, how sad is that :o )
    • scratch'n'click
    • brought in snacks but out to lunch with a friend - though I'm going to introduce her to the cafe where I can get lunch for £2.50 :D (she'd rather a pub lunch for £10)
    • washing on at 30. And dried on the airer.
    • sparkle, but I'm wearing grey woolly ones today.
    Thanks SM
    Have a lovely day everybody
  • Ooooh I love the smilie man who is picking up all the sparkles..just want I need on this miserable grey morning..thanks SM!

    Morning all :hello:

More snow today, the roads are dreadful and no public transport running, so I will be working at home again. If bus operators aren't able to drive in it, then me and my little car certainly are not

    Today so far I have:
Checked online banking - as expected
    HM breakfast
    Seen to animals
    Sorted work emails

    Later I will:
Speak to work colleague on the phone.
    Do some reading for work.
Sort out storecupboard lunch and supper - can't get out to shops anyway, forced NSD
Make something with one of the many pots of stewed apple in the freezer, maybe a crumble.

Have a nice day everyone :D

    Hi all

Hope snowy weather is not affecting you all.

    Positives
    Today I still have to
Check bank balance ( I know I am in credit)
Check on line savings accounts ( Interest due on one of them)

    Negatives
I have brought the car to work ( I have to pick my wife up after work and I have no client appointments so I can't claim any fuel expenses)
I have to buy cat food because we miscalculated last Saturday. She must eat more in the bad weather. So it is not a No Spend Day.
No home made soup left. It'll be tomorrow before I make more.

Still it's Friday and even though it is cold it's a lovely day and I'm looking forward to a relaxing weekend.

    Have a great day everyone.
  • Pants and crawls into work on her bike - Olive sorry yeah 'non event' I meant was work wise - tee hee'

sneaks out panting...........and puffing........... and removed 4 layers of tops...............still has two on for good measure!

ps bikes are slippy in the snow - funny I took it thinking it was safer than the car - doh - will catch you all at lunch.xx
