  • Good morning everybody. Roads and pavements lethal here.
  • Morning all. Glorious sunshine and blue skies here but still a bit of snow around, but granted not much. Nothing really planned for today tonight, other than catching up on housework which desperately needs doing. Was up til 3am talking to the mate who I've had the heartache with :o so needless to say a bit tired! Feeling ok though.
    Hope everyone's ok!

  • morning all. I'm stuck at the top of Ice Mountain today (well, slight exaggeration) as all the snow has frozen solid overnight and all the slush on the road is also frozen. Don't need to go out until around 4, when I go to get Charlie, if it's still bad, I'll tell my ex and he'll have to take him out twice as he has proper walking boots he can wear and doesn't fall over at the first sight of ice!!

Have a good time shopping, hypnotheraping and then going out tonight Bunny - hope you get a bargain outfit! How much is hypnotherapy?

Feeling a bit meh at never being able to afford to do anything or go anywhere...sigh... but just have to grit my teeth and think that the alternative is to start spending and plunge back into debt with the pile of CC's I have still all empty and feeling lonely in the drawer as I don't have any spare money each month to do anything. The poor credit cards feel used and cast off as I only got them for the Quidco cashback a few months ago and they thought they would have a more evil life racking up debt rather than sitting in a darkened drawer amongst the needles, cotton and other such assorted carp in there.........

I know, I'm losing it, it must be a case of snow madness! :rotfl:

Snowed here yesterday evening, then froze overnight....ice rink time! Today I am sorting out DS ski gear and labelling it all..ironing, and waiting for DH to return from Vancouver. He's then off to NYC on tuesday-what a life! Have a good day all-I'm going to brave the roads to get a newspaper...SRM xx

Second thought...why did next door have their builders position their portaloo right in front of my lounge window? It's like a Tracy Emin installation-I keep looking up and seeing a burly bloke "adjusting" himself...!!!!:rotfl:
    Debt-free...and staying that way...
  • skint - the assessor came to see his place a couple of days ago so it's still ongoing. The guy only stayed around 10 minutes as he had to go back to Birmingham and apologised for it being so fast. Young chap, very pleasant, was in the area doing loads of visits all from damage from the weather that week last month.

Basically he is going to appoint a restoration company to list and take away and destroy the damaged stuff, the carpet will be replaced by Allied to whatever his choice is and he'll get cash for the rest. The laptop will be replaced directly.

For the buildings - he has to get 2 quotes for a new ceiling, decorating both bedrooms and the bathroom and living room ceilings to be painted as water started to come through there as well - there are a couple of nasty big brown stains on the ceilings. The insurance choose 1 quote and then he gets a cheque for that amount to do - as the loss adjustor said 'whatever he decides to do with it'.......

  • I know SRM, but it would be nice just to have the choice to go out and do something without thinking, actually, i've got no money to do that. :(

Guess i've got Manchester to look forward to (even if I'll only be there for a few hours!) and then I've got just under 7 weeks to my holiday.

I know the feeling too, at the moment I'd love a massage, to get my hair done and legs waxed but can't afford to do any of them. I'm off out tonight but it's been planned and budgetted for months but there's just no spontaneous splurging these days. one day...
