Congrats on being debt free makeup! :T

Thanks Mrs Audus 2 B - I kind of feel like a cheat to be honest. I was trying to pursue a freelance career in makeup and at the same time working 2 part time jobs so not making very much money.

I made a decision last Summer to stop with the freelance thing and I now have a 'proper' job which pays about £12k more than I was earning before - and I do like my new job! So I was able to pay off my debts really quickly.

To be honest it feels like cheating really!
I've got my own flat :j:j

Now I have to pay the bills

And feed my interiors addiction ;)

    So do I - but I couldn't eat a whole one.:D

How's life today - hope the bricks are being put to good use - pop over later and have a neb at what you are upto over the diary back garden fence so to speak. :j

PS hammy darling where are you - the eggs are this years eggs - another 4 today - hurrah - as the hens were from freecycle and they get fed scraps and grain from work they haven't cost more than a couple hinges to put a door on an old meat store we found for them to live in.

EEEEEK LT - blimey thats a big bill - I do my electric online now - can input the readings once a day if I like and although its a shock when it goes in - (we use about 110 a month) it means i keep a close eye on it

We also have an energy owl - so I can see exactly what is on in the house - I have to say although it was about £30 (i think they are less now) its saved me that much at least. I know the house fridge/freezer uses about 3.2p hour to keep ticking over so if we are going out or are kicking about and its much more than that then I know somethings on (the water heater uses about 45p/hour - i left that on one night OMG - wont do that again) Mind you I have become a bit obsessive compulsive about it.

Unix - not heard from you in a couple days hope all ok xxxxx

Mrs A glad they have helped :) all for the price of a xmas stamp eh?

Make up - look at it this way - you prioritiesed your debt and made the decison to move to clear it - now your debt is clear - have you thought anymore of doing your freelance stuff again?? Clearing your debt has given you opportunities now to be less finanically driven or are you now saving for other things??

Waving to BOB and EH - hope you are all grand - EH you will be proud of the amount of time I am spending on the OS board. The frugal living for dummies book I am reading is amazing.

Things like - stock up on turkey's when they are cheap if you have room buy 12 - one for each month - (I never thought of this one) - then once a month - have a massive roast, make curry, fried rice, burgers, pastas etc with the whole carcass and then soup - what a brilliant idea.

Off to write up a list on my freezer as have been batch cooking today hurrah

Blinking car tax letter came - nice one eh - darwin just got serviced and wheels - now the blinking citreon needs taxed (and its just been insured - argh).

Also got the tescoclubcard plus form today - hurrah. Will get that in the post pronto and start to get my double points - I dont spend more than about 100-130 in tesco so I never get that many points - but now they will be doubled - hurrah for information!! Ta P.

*waves* Hi Fay. CC+ (ClubCard+) is handy - it even pays a small amount of interest in the money you have in there too. Had you noticed - another £35 and you'll be half way through the hairy scary loan! :j

    HI EH -

Peeeing down here - its horrible

I hadnt notice that - thank you - just paid some into it and got hairy maclairy not so damn well scary pah to you RBS down to £1550 - can't quite beleive it - but i guess its been a month of alot of extra work and a new lodger girlie so its not very realistic at the mo - more like moving debt around and cheating sort of.

Penguin boy is sulky about no money to him at the mo - but pah to him - we agreed as long as he got it back (just under 3k) before april 2010 then all was ok so some of his put aside money went into paying off hairy boy first..

He has asked if I am teaching him a lesson in trust - lol - boys huh?!

I mentioned casually that as I had his money, his dog, all his worldly belongings and his bank account details - he could pretend to be nicer to me :)

Well I am considering setting up a small wedding makeup business as I have weekends free.

To be honest I actually prefer being PAYE. I go to work, I get paid - no hassles of chasing down next job etc. also when I'm not working, the time is my own. When I was freelance and not working always spent my time off feeling guilty for not sending out cv's that kind of thing.

I'm now supposed to be saving for a deposit for a flat but I really love holidays and go away next Friday for a lovely holiday which I wouldn't have been able to afford before. I've actually paid for it out of my wages rather than putting it on the plastic and can't believe I will be able to do it all with no cc debt to pay off for months afterwards!!! Not my usual way at all!!!

That Frugal Living for Dummies book sounds great (not that i have room for 12 turkeys but still!) I must remember to get it out of the library on my next trip there!
I've got my own flat :j:j

Now I have to pay the bills

Oh yes, I was out buying birthday cards today and one had the following on which I thought would be good for this thread:

Apparently it is a chinese or Japanese proverb,

If you get drunk you will be happy for a short time
If you fall in love you will be happy for a long time
If you take up gardening you will be happy forever!

    Waves back to Fay:hello:

Made a totally frugal soup today with potato peelings, carrot peelings, broccoli stems, an onion and stock. Added a couple of tablespoons of curry powder and salt and pepper..whizzed it up and totally lush. Neighbour has had some and thought we had bought it from Tesco's...cheek!! Well the ingredients were, but not the soup:rotfl: It made one large stock pan, but is now gone with a couple of rounds of toast.:o

I have just spotted some fruit trees in Aldi which i may treat myself to. I have a small back garden where i grew allsorts last year, mainly beans though i like beans, and of course turnips..my courgettes were a sight to behold:rolleyes:

Would like to do so much more this year, but our local council are pants at providing allotments:mad:

Hope your day has been good.:D
Blackadder: Am I jumping the gun, Baldrick, or are the words 'I have a cunning plan' marching with ill-deserved confidence in the direction of this conversation?
Still lurking around with a hope of some salvation:cool:
