just checked out your stripey store, and it's just proven how much we are alike - you've no polish in the house! glad to see you've specified which shampoo and conditioner is for peedie. :) I have decided that seeing mash on your list is much worse than seeing a g'pig in your freezer!

Hi, congratulations on getting the house. I am so excited for you. I missed the picture but based on the other ones that you put up I am sure it is lovely. It sounds like my kind of place.
My OH just had his contract ended and so I have been looking on line for jobs for him I found a great one in Orkney but he wasnt qualified. It was a countryside ranger. I have told him that if he finds a job back there I would be happy to go tomorrow! You never know we might be asking if you have a room to rent! I am also intrigued by the fake woodburner. we have storage heaters (hate them) and would love a wood burner but the house doesnt have any chimneys as it is a new modern box. I too love beachcombing and I walk in the forest with my Great Dane every day so there is loads of wood here.
Oh for a country cottage. Imagine living in Wales and still I dont get my country retrreat!

Cant wait to hear your next instalment.
Some days there aren't any trumpets, just lots of dragons. Courage doesn't always roar. Sometimes courage is the quiet voice at the end of the day saying, I will try again tomorrow -- Mary Anne Radmacher

Will OH apply anyway - sometimes there are lots of applicants for jobs -sometimes hardly any.......might be worth a shot?

    Calor gas fake woodburners HERE

Electric woodburner fakers POSH ONES HERE not so posh ones HERE

Not the same as the real thing - our first way in is to ask if we can open up a fireplace - if we can't then I'll look hard at something like those - we've a cheap one already - which doesnt look brilliant but nice than a radiator - and with flikering candle light doesnt look so bad.........basket of logs beside it, slight squint as you look at it.....:)

    :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:its a very very long story :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Its one of the reasons I started a diary..........................dunno how to put it succinctly - some are old pets who are dearly departed and as yet not quite buried - some we were given - I've always had odd things in the freezer :)

OK - not sure I actually want to confess this but - here goes:
[disclaimer - all the dead things currently and in the past that have been in my freezer ALL died of natural causes]

Non edible things in the freezer are currently:

Two tubs of lush frozen gel stuff
    Bloodworms for the fish
Said Guinea pig's chum who died later and we have decided to bury in a nice pot here
A Puffin that someone gave us for a friend who is a naturalist artist - for her to draw - its beautiful not a mark on it - only issue is that it is dead
A jack snipe that I was given at work today to ID - its there until I can get it verified by a bird expert.

IN the past we have had:
Eagles - being invesigated incase it was killed illegally
    Lamb milk
    Cow special calf milk
Eagles poo - lots of it for a pal who was researching sea eagles on Mull
    Puffins - see one below
Corncrakes - for ex ex ex's work
Gold crest - being kept until the kids came home from dads to show them it
Mostly for research things - don't most folk have various birds of prey

Isnt it the same in most households???We keep food in there too. Just not on the same shelf.

HB I found the confession post of over a year ago - just for you :)

My dead things have gone down a bit in some cases and we've acquired a few this year

    :D

fay has a reputation in her area as the person who's willing to freeze any dead bird that they may find. i still expect the guinea pig to be buried at some stage though.

LT I promise - its now ear marked for the aurucaria (monkey puzzle tree) cos that one is special enough in DS opinion - and we've got the pot etc now

Will do it for the new house and have him slighly less chilled at that place........:o
