Stripey New Year to you Fay! :D Glad to hear that Christmas was good, if a little strenuous in the pocket area.

If you want me to send the spreadsheet I put together for working out car costs over a year then let me know - it might suit you quite well as it's done to cover two vehicles. I have to say it's massively reassuring to feel that the money is there to cover things like Tax and MoT when they come due. A friend of mine has worked this way for years - I really wish I'd followed her lead sooner now!

I've always put away 45 squids a month towards my car, for tax, mot and servicing and any repairs, generally this works ok but with the cambelt recently it went down to a tenner, but it's working it's way back up again. I save the insurance and rescue cover separately.
The first thing i did when OH moved in and got a vehicle was work out what the annual running costs were likely to be and suggested (aka told him) that he needed to save 1/12th each month.
  • Phew thank goodness you are all OK and full of (as always good advice - two cars yup thats me - OH sort of contributes to Darwin but TBH - he tends to forget - this year I want to see if I can manage with just the Darwin beast and pop Citroen in the garage - but Lodgers german family have alos offered to help with insurance (as I suggested my lodger might want to insure herself on the car) so might look at a compromise). Lt great idea and EH yup indeed send me something to help work out 2 cars

Funny if it was the kids I'd be absolutely telling them to work out 12months of payments - I am a complete lunatic!!

LT and EH - Helllllllllllllo missed you all terribly

It wasn't just strenuous on the pocket being away - 7 days of OH's family (and me hormonal......)

Woo hoo finally back inot routine and got to the supermarket

4x 9 pack frubes for DD lunch box at 19p each
    4 x sausages at 13p each
    4x 6 packs rolls at 12p each

And an application form for DS from the checkout lad who's just a few weeks older than him (!)

    Result!!

I am always changing shape - normally NOT for the best!

Morning all getting sorted for OH leaving again - that's him for the month I think.

Lots work to do for *work* but can't seem to motivate myself

I agree with kids shows - had to google sesame street for DD last week as she hadn't heard of it:eek:

  • OH's away - I can't get motivated to work at all

Instead decided to raid local supermarket for bargains (sadly this always cheers me up) and have an early night after some nondescript girlie telly (with no one saying what you watching that girlie rubbish for)

i can't get motivated either, trying hard to be more upbeat at work as i feel that i have been the witch from hell. I've got my justify your job interview on thursday which i'm so not looking forward to. Just hope there's not too much snow so that i can get to the main office i work from. Though i haven't looked out the window it wasn't snowing yet earlier when i got home, i'm hoping it never actually arrives.
