I get to stay and write up my wrok IF IF IF
I revise and put in the sections I have already written for the literature I have done by the 11th January and I think I also get examined in January as well.
They wanted all the sections written - I argued that I could only hand in two of them - they reluctantly agreed to that.
I want to write up and as sullen as I feel right now about the whole process I don't want to blow a years worth of funding by being my normal petulant teenager.
So will give it a go.
Thanks for all the lovely hugs etc!!Total debt 26/4/18 <£1925 we were getting there.
Total debt as of 28/4/19 £7867.38:eek:
minus 112.06 = £7755.32:money:

Oh fay, well done you! ((((((((((Fay)))))))))))))
Another year of funding?? Fabulous! And this way you get to write up like you want, and also they DON'T get all their sections (good on you for sticking to your guns!)
1th Jan is a tight deadline though - will that be doable for you? Will that be all you have to do? Will this get you an MRes??
Good on you, be strong, you can do it!Stripey socks ahoy!

HIya CD - no it doesnt get me an mres - its to get me allowed to do an mres - I have to write this bit up so they can 'justify' giving me the opportunity to write up an MRes with the work I am currently doing. IYSWIM
IE Its an additional hoop for me to jump through to allow me to continue on and write up.
But as I want to finish up my field experimnets then I guess I have to jump. Its two sections of my literature review (30 pages) which they have commented on and make changes to it - I'm gonna try.Total debt 26/4/18 <£1925 we were getting there.

Hi Fay
Just popped in to see what had happened.
Good luck with the writing - sounds like hard graft but I know you'll give it your best shot and complete it.
At least some of the uncertainty has been removed even if there are still some hurdles to jump
Best of luck and keep smiling in those socks

Brilliant news Fay!! Could be a lot worse, and so long as you feel that deadline is doable it sounds like that's a really good outcome.I am delighted for you dearie! :j:j
LT - you've not been beaten at all - it's simply cold and there is absolutely no shame in needing the heating on! fay bit of a mixed blessing meeting. I hope the deadline isn't too short for you to achieve it reasonably, but at least you know you'll have another years funding available, that's worth it's weight in gold.
We've turned the room around and i'm not sure i like it, bordering on almost hating it, but i have little choice really. Does anyone else not like tv's above normal eye level?0 -
Good outcome Fay :j, em, what's a MresLemon_Tree wrote: »We've turned the room around and i'm not sure i like it, bordering on almost hating it, but i have little choice really. Does anyone else not like tv's above normal eye level?
I'm with you LT, I would hate it & bad for the neck as well :eek:A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effortMortgage Balance = £0

Hello chaps
Well up with the robin - chickens are hiding - thanks for all your lovely support - I feel almost human (almost)
Fire is on
SMall things thread is started
Gonna write xmas cards today
Just paid off CC in full - hoping that keeps me on the straight and narrow - put all the food/takeaways/retail shopping on it so I can keep track of what I am spending
Bank is OK - was touch and go through the week when the nasty TV licence folks took out 35 without me knowing and it put me over my limit (thank goodness I check it twice a day!) so avoided a charge
Pilates money got given back to me yesterday (didn't manage to go) so that was a bonus return of money (£35)
Brother handed over 300 for his rent due on the 1st so will scam that into my internet saver for a couple weeks
OH up tomorrow night for 15 days need a full bedroom MOT and a full body MOT - will try and tackle that today and tomorrow til 7pm
I *seem* to have lost my engagement and kids mothers day ring - I am *Sure* with a tidy up they might appear.
Fires on with recycled wood from the beach and some free wood given - xmas lights are on - its disgusting outside - if it were snowing it would be a pretty blizzard - but it just looks digusting and squally.
LT I hate TV's in the living room (although my bedroom has a tv which has snuck down into the living room over the past couple weeks) hope the room is cosier now.Total debt 26/4/18 <£1925 we were getting there.

Good outcome Fay :j, em, what's a Mres
Its a masters by research MRes - so I can write up my experiments
I already have a taught masters MSc - its not a higher qualification and to be honest I don't really NEED it - but bluntly it means I don't have to pay back my stipend to date (24K) and I can keep this years stipend (12k)
It also means all the work I have done stays 'mine' and I can use the bulk of it for papers - which I should get quite a few from so its a good way to keep ownership of my work - its also in Bioenergy which is a rapidly expanding field (pardon the pun) and I think ideally I want to manage field trials or outdoor work so I can easily move onto something like that after if I want.
So its a win/win I guess from that point of view. Bit sad no Dr Flowers but to be honest I was going more bonkers than normal. And slipping into a bad headspace.
Morning by the way - sorry no manners!Total debt 26/4/18 <£1925 we were getting there.
