Ah thanks EH - right back atcha

I think to be honest I am coming to the conclusion that I am about to give up my PhD - but not use to walking away from something - but I refuse to kill myself about it - and am beginning to wonder the merits of trying to work all the time if I am not actualy hitting the mark I need to be at.

Whatever happens I will still write up the willow stuff and then slowly walk away - just need to extract myself in a suitably appropriate manner

Telling my supervisor to shove his thesarus up his posterior probably isnt the way forward.

    What you up to?

Not the way forward but it would make a great exit! :D

Only you know for sure; all I'd say is if you do walk away then know you're doing it for the right reasons & it's a choice you won't regret later

If you're happy with your decision then that's all the justification you need :)

Oh Fay, it seems like such a shame after all the work and effort you've already put in.....but if that's the right thing for you, then so be it. You must be absolutely certain that you're not going to regret it a way down the line though. Can you take some time away from it over christmas / New year and then reassess?

I agree though, telling your eveil supervisor to stick his thesaurus up his behind might not be the best way of doing things. Now, putting it there yourself is another matter entirely!

Oh! Do you guys remember I'd lost a pair of pink fluffy socks recently? (Think I posted about it on here) Well I dreamt last night that I found them...in the kitchen drawer at my parents house! Y'know, the drawer that has odds & ends & string etc in? Well I haven't lived there for over 10 years &, naturally, I didn't have said socks when I was there!

Don't know what Freud would make of that!

fay i'm sorry to hear about your meeting and that you are still finding it a struggle but you need to make a decision based on what is right for you. don't be bullied into a decision you may regret.

lots of hugs being sent your way

  • Fay - send the email to him again (Ie, pick up the one you sent first time around and do a forward to he can see the previous details) but set a read receipt request on it this time, and copy it in to your other supervisor "As there appears to be some issues between our email accounts here" - that will quietly make your point I would think! ;)

great idea , gets the point across to git face super and shows not to mess with you :T
