yay to halving evil edna, i'm 2/3rds of the way with diavolo but then i've been paying it off for years and am now only just kicking up the speed.

Car has been serviced £119 the worse off now, and aparently should get cam belt done, and the read shock bushes are split (?). they always seem to find something, last year it was the breaks. i had a bad experience last time a garage did the cam belt i have a fear that they will kill the car like the other one did last time. Guess i'll have to pluck up the courage to ring round for more quotes and then trust that they will do it right.

as to how i can be evil and think of paying by penny cheques, you know my profession - & i hate banks and know how to match their evil with my own yet still play by their rules. You'll never catch me shouting or swearing at them but if i complain i usually get what i want, probably just to get me off the line or out of the branch lol

    Morning :)

Woo hoo to Edna being half diminished! :):) Well blitherin done :) And why on earth not get them to give you interest - evil miserable old gits :) I reckon 317 1p cheques is the way forward next time (although hopefully there won't be a next time)...

    Good news on Darwin :):)

Oh, and I got a stripey parcel this morning - hooray! :):):)

So so tired, but managed to get down to the Womens Institute cafe for a cup of tea, and after a bit of work will be heading down to a tiny little harvest festival. This is SO my favourite time of year, I just can't resist :):)

Oh, and Fay, don't let them get away with making you take all the teaching stress! You've got enough to do! Make sure they know it's not fair - easier said than done but put on your stripey socks and go for it :)

Congrats on Enda my luvvie, you are a seriously good debt payer offer'er, wished it was catching

    :)

Well as its my AF money and a bit of a top up mainly - it should be catching :) hopefully once we get into the swing of it eh? Its why I had the idea of using it for this months challenge the AFDs certainly help the pennies :) Waves to Jo

Cheerydaff - I hope the parcel was OK :)

LT - you do make me giggle with your evil ways - well done with Diavolo (sp?)

Today - Darwin MOT cost £70 all in - that's OK
Other car due next week - oh pants, may book him in 'sooth' as OH's garage is quite good

Had a mad busy day you forget how bad the weather can be here so lots of 'winter' tidying up goiing on.

Cleared out the larder - I probably need LESS shopping than I think - I encountered 6 bags of sugar in various stages of undress in the baking box :rotfl:(I know its sadd havving a baking box, its just where I keep all the cake making goodies)

Got a joint of beef, huge bit turkey, big chunk orkney gold steak for stewing, and mince out to make some teas

Also made a humuungous pot of broccolli/cauliflower and cheese soup :)

Children are being evil (both cream crackered) so one is dispatched next door and the other one has been given some computer time as he's helped chop lots logs outside :) all good.

    Fay,

Given the special contents of your freezer I thought you may enjoy this.

Yes Fay, parcel was most fab, have spent all day in Loving Myself Socks :) Very much enjoying them :):)

I am well impressed with you making all that food :) Very organised :) And with Darwin only costing you £70! Boo hiss on the other car though - hope that behaves as well as Darwin!

(and what's AF money?? Getting a bit confused with, er, Aunt Flo...) :)

  • Hey chaps

Kiss jen loving the ice-cube penguin!!!

Cheerydaff glad your legs feel loved :) you deserve it dude - :) AF money is the money I don't spend on wine - ie Alcohol free day :) - easy to get confused - I am a bit random - I got to the stage where I felt I was drinking far too much (IE alone alot, bit prone to depression etc so been trying to cut alcohol out of my life) My dad died at 53 of alcohol posioning - so hitting my 40's scared me a bit) told folks earlier in the thread that I had given up or pretty much trying to give up drinking for good :) so my AF days I put the money to my debts or I treat myself !!

    Jo glad to hear it
well done on your xmass pressie savings to date :)

Morning all - up with the larks this end - actually I think they aren't up yet..............

    Cooked last night

Spaghetti bolognese 2-3 portions of this so need freeze it in portions
Mince (both the mince and the spag bog had a cup full of soya mince chucked in at the browning stage and we never notice when its cooked - I think browning the soya stuff with the meat makes it take on all the flavours of the meat :) makes my one packet of mince do 4 family teas :) gotta love the OS board!)
Beef in beer (given beer from work) freeze it
Spaghetti - ready for heating up tomorrow for tea
Roasted a chicken now rubbering it: curry, cous cous, chicken fried rice and now its bones etc are needing drained to make soup which was simmered last night
Rice - cooked a whole bag, made some into chicken fried rice and the rest will be frozen in portions

Got to finish a turkey curry today (will add some porridge as it makes it really creamy - stole that one from the Mbaz thread) and put a joint of beef in oven make up the DS secret yorkshire pudding recipe (works every time :)) must make pesto as well or DD will kill me

    Meal plan this week

Roast beef and yorkshires later :)
Spaghetti wiht HM pasta sauce (tomato, basil, garlic and onions from the garden)
    Chicken fried rice
    Turkey curry
    Mince tatties and dumplings
Pie or something easy on Friday as off on the boat later that night :)

Starting my list for my mega mainland shopping again, have a list of the first time and have a photo of the full shelves (I know its sad) but looking at it full and seeing it now will mean more to me than just looking at a list :)

Went shopping last night (avoiding the wine aisle!) and got 3x bread at 16p, block cheese 21p and 4 bags of tomatoes at 20p each (lol I don't need tomatoes but chucked them whole into the freezer they will end up like bright red canon balls - still making sauce with my own ones!)

Have dedicated one CC which is clear to shopping this month - my big shop last time cost about £200 for 6 months worth of store cupboard stuff - we've still lots left but did run out of some things. I also want to keep an eye on my 'evening reduced spends' to make sure they aren't creeping up so going ot keep a tally for the month by ONLY using that card.

PS I meet my slow cooker next weekend! its sitting waiting for me :)

    Well done girl! :)

I knew about you giving up wine - just didn't associate it with the AF - d'oh! Sorry to head about your dad though :(

Got my stripey socks on today, and the sun is shining :)
  • Woo hoo to stripey socks in the sunshine :) sorry - hang out alot on the 'giving up and cutting down alcohol thread' and AF or AFD is just an everyday expression there - should remember to be more easy to understand.

I am even helping on this months challenge (EEEK) but no ones thrown me out yet!!

Its not sunny here but the wind has stopped a bit - hiding in the lounge with the fire on (relit it from last night) and chucking random pinecones on it to make it crackle - must do something productive soon :)

Glad you liked the sockies :) keep yourself well, you sound cream crackered.
