I know there are variables, but I included literally everything I spent just in the month of January. I'm not trying to get an accurate picture of everyones average spend, I didn't bother with including savings etc, just precisely what you spent on what. Which people seem to have managed nicely - interesting comparisons thanks

Hello there. I've been hibernating. Finally started on the treatment road this week for Mr. P's you-know-what after 3 years of nhs ping-pong...PasturesNew wrote: »Hello stranger!!0 -

I love nosing at these, so thought it'd only be fair to share:
Direct debits = around £1,300 (includes the basic mortgage payments on our rental property and own home)
Petrol = around £200 (although work pays for a lot of this)
Food = around £200
Holiday Fund = £150
Contingency Fund = £150
Car 'Savings' = £150 (the car, contingency and holiday money goes off to a savings account and is used to pay for, well, car maintenance and insurance, holidays and stuff like boilers breaking down and boring kitchen stuff)
Personal Money = around £700 a month for two adults (bascially pays for everything else).
This adds up to around £2,800. Our total net income between the two of us just under £5k each month, so at the moment we can overpay around £2k each month on our mortgages. Plan is to be mortgage free on both properties within the next couple of years, quit the office monkey jobs and go off and work in a bar on some far flung part of the globe for the rest of our days.0 -
£1212 for every monthly bill we as a family have to pay. The left overs are for the pub and maybe a little saving:rotfl:0

not that I want to call you all "troughers" but £325 for food for 2 adults or £150 for 1 person for the month.:eek: . Jesus. Where do you shop?
There are 2 adults in my home and we spend around £130 quid a month. Go the local Morrisons and get the buy1get1 free deals.0
